It ain’t pretty, it just smells that way. No wait, it IS pretty, it just doesn’t smell that way, at least not in the bend right by the zoo. But other than that, it’s a lovely connection of pathways running through the city. Well, the people using them are the ones running. The pathways themselves don’t actually go anywhere. Just south of this bend, there’s a marker talking about what the area used to be like, and why Calgary used to be(and might still be?) referred to as the Elbow… and also why the river is called the Elbow. Oh, and how the area used to be hoppin, or is it rockin’? It was a pretty happenin’ red light district at the start the 1900s. Go figure! Keep movin’ along the path, read the placards, live a little and learn a little! Just hold your breath on that one corner.
