Fantastic. Authentic Singaporean and Malay food is hard to find in Vancouver, that is ethnically-Malay(not Singaporean/Malaysian Chinese). The Nasi Lemak is one of the best I’ve had outside of Singapore/Malaysia. Mee Goreng, Murtabak were great too, as well as the satay. Would definitely go back. Very reasonable prices. A gem in Burnaby.

Since my last review, I’ve been there about 2 more times last the last one year. The latest and last one was one in December. We had a large group. Pre-ordered but yet, we still had to wait a long time for dishes to be served. The portion has shrunk. Friendly staff but kitchen is very slow. Our may be a large portion of meesiam but it’s mostly a big bowl of noodles. Needs lots of improvements.

We checked out this new malaysian restaurant. Waited so long for service, waited 2 hours for my food. Food was so-so, not enough to justify the 2 hours wait. This place definitely need to improve on their service.

Excellent Singapore food cooked by a couple of Malay ladies from Singapore. You cannot get anymore authentic than Singapore food cooked by Singaporeans. We decided to check the place for lunch. The place is simply furnished, if you are coming for the ambience, forget about it. Instead, come for the exceptional food and the friendly owners. We spoke to one of the owner, Juliah was her name. She was very friendly, coming over to check with us on the quality of the food. We had Tahu Goreng(tahu was crispy and peanut sauce was spot on). Mee goreng with shrimp… yummy! Nasi Lemak with fried chicken, boiled eggs, ikan bilis, & sliced cucumber — that is the way to serve Nasi Lemak, their sambal was fantastic… again spot on! We had the Nasi Briyani Ayam — OMG!!! One of my favorite dish at the moment, I have yet to try the rest… they have soup kambing too. Their teh tarik and teh halia(ginger tea) was yum-oh! Apparently, during the weekend, they will make a local dessert, definitely will go back there again. This place is tucked in the corner, parking is street parking and next to the restaurant, they have allocated parking spaces. If you love Singapore food, you need to to there. They make it simple by you going to the counter, look at the menu board, order what you want and pay up front. They served chinese tea, it is self served and you get your own utensils.

Food is alright, authentic but not the best quality. Service is terrible, we came on a Friday night with a group of 7, one of our friends got her entrée 2 hours later. We won’t be back, better off driving across the bridge for Meks Delight or Tamarind hill in New West!

Great authentic Malaysian/Singapore/Indonesian food here. The only thing I don’t like here is their chicken sate. Too sweet but the peanut sauce is beautiful! My fav: spicy Nasi goreng, mi Jawa, soto ayam. Don’t forget to ask for their Sambal balacan. Expect a a tad slow service after you ordered and paid. Because looks like they’re making everything to order. Worth the wait!

Authentic Malaysian cuisine, unlike the majority of the«Malaysian» restaurants that are found outside of Singapore and Malaysia. Operated by warm, genial Malaysians. The interior was nostalgic. The spices in the beef rendang sauce were all present but did not overpower the natural taste of the meat. Traditional rendang is mostly dry, with just a bit of sauce, but this was a bath. Although it was a tad tough. I tried some of my mother’s Nasi Lemak. It came with rather small pieces of fried chicken. The sambal was more sweet than pungent and spicy, really. The chicken was tender, but the skin tasted strongly of batter. Bit of a turnoff. But the coconut rice was delightfully loose and fragrant. We also got the Roti Prata. It consisted of two pieces of the roti and a bowl of dipping sauce. I have no complaints about the sauce. Packed full of flavour, thick, and just the right level of spiciness. Last, and maybe least, the Kuih Lapis. Three thin pieces for $ 3.50 isn’t exactly the best value. At least it wasn’t cloyingly sweet. Overall, great place if you miss Malaysia and her food. There is obviously room for improvement, but it’s definitely worth a try if you happen to be in the area as the authenticity beats the others, in my humble opinion.
