Went for a business lunch last Wednesday, there was 4 of us in our party. The service was very good in fact the server was very engaging. I had the veal it was very tender served with pasta. For dessert the group shared a mud pie. It was terrific. Sorry this restaurant isn’t closer to home or I would definitely be a regular.

I have been going to this restaurant consistently for more than 10 years and I’ve never had a bad experience. The food isn’t fancy, it’s just good, traditional Italian fare. I’ve tasted everything on their menu over the years. My favourite appies are the spicy prawns or mozzarella in marinara(they used to have fried oysters on the menu but not anymore — too bad). Best pasta is the Ravioli Cardinale. Love the Veal L’Artista. The fresh bread rolls are amazing. The service is always great, though sometimes you can feel a little rushed. The wine selection is acceptable. The place is small and intimate — perfect for a date. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food — a huge step up from the mass quantity and low quality of Anton’s. And no long line-up! If you love traditional-style Italian, this restaurant is a must-try

We decided to try this place rather than line up for Anton’s. It was a disappointment. The prices were high for the portion size, presentation and quality. My tortellini was over cooked and tasted of flour. My dining partner requested a cream sauce but was told the put a rosé sauce on his cannelloni in error. It arrived with a tomato sauce. The service was inconsistent and the server kept trying to remove our plates before we finished our meal. I wouldn’t dine there again.

Guys, this is a traditional Italian eatery. No flash or hipster flair. If you want good, old fashioned Italian restaurant dishes like the ones you got at your cousins first communion, come here. This is my go to place(like Nick’s Spaghetti House) that I go to when I want a good pasta dish or veal marsala.

Used an Entertainment coupon. Server was somewhat sniffy about taking it. Friend had pasta with a meat based sauce, mine was vegetarian and of course, mine was 50 cents more! Both dishes came out suspiciously fast and very, very hot(too hot to eat). Portion size was good, but for $ 17.50 for pasta I expect amazing taste with lots of lovely fresh veggies in the sauce. No veggies, sauce was ok. Not bad, just meh. I had a cappuccino which had over a tablespoon of grounds in it($ 4.75) and when I pointed it out(and the server said, «oh I could read your tea leaves!»), server told me she would let them know, but didn’t offer to take it off the bill. This would have been a real waste of money without the coupon. With the coupon, only a partial waste. All that said, I’ve heard from others the meat dishes without pasta are good. The service also(excepting the lack of action on the coffee) was friendly and attentive.

One of the best old school Italian restaurants around. It’s a small sized family run restaurant. Decent spacing between tables makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. The details are all in the quality food — nice selection of pasta and seafood as well as chicken and steak. Never disappointed with the service or food.

Food was so good, service was great. They didn’t even think twice when we brought our toddler. They had a high chair that they brought out and no problem at all. We had the calamari– not deep fried but delicious and no «fishy» taste at all. Gnocchi was tasty and perfectly cooked. Linguine was the same, perfectly done. The portions were decent sized so we had a bunch of leftovers. We also had an entertainment coupon which the server gave back to us so we could reuse it which is a nice bonus. I would definitely come back again, easy parking too in front of the restaurant.

I feel as though my righteousness was manifested in coming to this location the service was fantastic and the attributes were incredible are you should come here and utilize the services and offerings this particular business does in fact supply because you will once again in fact be pleased and be thankful that you spend your money personally sure they close their doors I would be devastated and possibly not live on.

The food is gross. The pasta is salty and the seafood is bad. We sent the first appetizer back and the second was ok. The service is pretty good but when you ask to pay a certain amount on your debit card(with tip included) they make it for more than you ask. They say it is a mistake, but they do it with the same amount of cents as the bill to make it so they can take an even tip out. The wine is ok priced, but the beer is ridiculously expensive. I will never return. Nothing was great about it. As soon as we returned home, my husband was violently sick to his stomach. Absolutely disgusting. DONOTGOTHERE.

It’s a good place, but not the best. For the price that you pay you can get better food. For an Italian restaurant, who is supposed to really know about pasta, they really didn’t get the cooking right for it and my ravioli was too soft. You could barely feel the taste of the veal inside. The mozzarella on top was just wrong, and not Italian at all, but I won’t take it in consideration since it was my choice anyway. My Tartufo for dessert was nice, but nothing that you can’t have somewhere else. I should probably give this place 2 stars but my company was really pleasant, so

Great place for Italian. The smallish size makes the place feel very intimate and reminds me of mom and pop restaurants in Italy. The food is top notch as are the staff. Bolognese is awesome as is the clam linguine. Entrees are fresh and home cooking style. Try this place!

I continue to be a fan of this place. Fantastic, crafted food. Fair portions. Great presentations, and nice staff. However over the years the price have gone up significantly. Expect to pay $ 25 for a chicken parmigiana. Still nice to visit from time to time

Charming little Italian restaurant with a menu that hasn’t changed in years. The food encapsulates the idea of traditional Italian food safe for North Americans. With delicious pastas and good veal dishes I come here at least once a year. I’d love to see a seasonal menu with a few new inspirations, but it’s comforting to know some things don’t have to be in a constant state of change to be considered good.

The quality is better than Anton’s. It’s an interesting space, as it’s very small(think cozy.) However, I felt like I was in a high end restaurant, as there were proper servers and greeters at L’Artista. The ambiance was very intimate, and this would actually be a good place to take a date out. Pricing was O-K considering the dining experience, pasta at dinner started at $ 16.50, and the food was alright. Hmm… maybe I’m just used to buying pasta for less than $ 12 with no service, because it’s been a long time since I’ve had waiters and waitresses in actual white shirts and black pants serve me.(I came with a party on a Friday night.) It’s definitely a place to try.

I’ve been here on multiple occasions. The food has always been good, but the service has been inconsistent. I mostly come here for big family dinners. They accept Entertainment coupons, which is a big bonus. This time I had the ravioli with mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in a sherry sauce. Wow, it was tasty. The sauce was so smooth and creamy, and the mushrooms gave it such a deep flavour. The pasta was cooked al dente, and it was just as good the second day! If you decide to try it out, the linguini with smoked salmon in a cream sauce is also good. However, I would say they have one of the best tomato cream sauces around.

Fancy Italian business lunch? Yes please. Probably once a year we all pack up shop and go here courtesy of the boss. Wait staff that have been there for years… and years. That says something about a business that they are able to keep staff happy for so long. Family building! They also have been kepping customers happy for years and years and years. Go there. Ask them whats good and you’ll see how much they truly appreciate what they are doing, which is serving you some delicious food, and they are not just rhyming off some list of specials. What they are recommending is something they truly believe you will enjoy, as they do. It will soon be time for our Christmas lunch. As always I will have more difficulty selecting my meal than I did in choosing names for my children. I cannot wait.

My entertainment book, and the fact that my stomach was feeling for abit of Italian and this is nice and close as I did not want to travel too far. Nestled right on the border of Vancouver/Burnaby, this little restaurant was busy on the night we went. A pretty big menu for this small little place. They serve homemade pasta and sauces. Very rich cream sauces from when I went. A good sized portion that I could not finish. Not too big, and not too small. The area inside is really small though, and they definately put enough tables in the joint. The lighting is pretty dim too, as it has that rustic feel in this place. It is middle of the road in terms of quality and price, but be prepared to drop a little more money for the appetizers, desserts and drinks.
