Went to Joey the other day with my girl friend to have a girls night and catch up. We have been to joey before and went in knowing what to order, we got brought to the lounge and were seated at a high top. It was fairly busy in there they had two blonde girls on the floor. We got our drink orders in and they came promptly and brought waters also. Then our server came over to come introduce her self she said her name was Shannon, she asked how we were doing and if we needed help on anything she was here for us. We kinda knew what we wanted but wanted to get her opinion on some items we were starving, we usually just get the fish tacos and the tuna salad. And then share it, but we wanted something a bit more filling and were not sure what to get. Even though the place was quite busy she took her time and described everything that we were interested in and made recommendations about certain food items. She also asked if there was any allergies or dietary issues that she should know about that was the first time I have ever been asked that, she really wanted to ensure our safety if we had any allergies(which we didn’t). We ended up ordering the chicken lettuce wraps to start and then we both shared two mains. We shared the salmon that shannon said is so tender it just falls apart because it’s cooked medium moist and the filet which she recommended with blue cheese butter and peppercorn sauce to balance creamy with peppery taste. She brought over complimentary drinks in little champaign flutes I don’t remember exactly what they were just that they were part of their new mixed soda that they had recently introduced. The chicken lettuce wraps were perfect to feed two ladies and right amount of vegetable to chicken ratio. The mains were the best part though, she brought everything out on two plates so we didn’t have to share one. The salmon was the best we have ever had and it came with white sauce and mashed potatoes and a potato spring roll it was to die for. The filet was outstanding on its own but with the blue cheese butter and peppercorn sauce was amazing. Overall all service was extremely hospitable from the moment we walked in. It felt like everyone really wanted to make sure we were taking care of. The lounge was perfect for us because we are in our 20’s but could be a bit loud if you would like something a little quieter.

Had a great work lunch yesterday at this location. Only downside is that for some reason they couldn’t find our reservation although we had made it several weeks in advance. The good thing was that we were there super early, around 11:15am and the place was still pretty empty so it wasn’t a problem getting a table for 9 of us. The last two times here I’ve gotten the burger. It’s really satisfying. Great bun, patty, fillings, love the mustard in it. Just a really good burger! Always tempted to try something else, but when you know what does the trick, why go with something different? Wish there was room for dessert as I used to love getting the apple pie and the molten lava cake sounds delish, but of course we were too full. What set this visit apart was that we were celebrating a special occasion and our server, Taylor, took note and the Manager came over at one point to say hello and wish us congratulations(baby shower). At the end of our meal they brought out non-alcoholic sparkling mango drinks for everyone. A very thoughtful touch! For some reason feels kinda strange giving a chain restaurant a 5 star rating, but thought it was well deserved on this visit. Our server was great and attentive, water glasses were refilled, food was good and the special touches didn’t go unnoticed.

Went there for an office gathering — food was good but the service was ok. James should smile a bit more and be more attentive such as refilling water and beverages more often. Plus also give the correct bill to customers when there are several separate bills to handle. I think I over tipped him when I got my bill. I ordered a burger with yam fries and got a receipt for Ahi Tuna salad. I quickly glanced at the amount of $ 18.90-dodn’t look at the description of the meal & gave him $ 20& mistakenly told him to keep it. Forgot that my order only was priced at $ 14.75. Happy New Year to him. Tip for the restaurant — turn up the lights — it’s too dark!

I usually avoid Joeys/Cactus/Milestones etc but I came here with my coworkers last night and had a really good time. The food was a lot better than what I was expecting(my last visits were not very impressive) and most importantly, I really enjoyed my drinks. I had the tandoori flat bread off the appies section of the menu and it was so filling and yummy. It’s got a lil spicy kick to it which I liked. As for drinks, I got a bellini and a single Elderflower cocktail. I really really really dislike the bellini at Milestones so I was wary about ordering one here… but it turned out to be gr8 so will come again. The Elderflower cocktail was good but do yourself a favour and get a double or you might as well just be drinking grapefruit juice with elderflower in it??? you feel?

We were on Sat Dec 19⁄15 and witnessed a lot of management problems. One of our party is a successful restaurant manager and was appalled & amused by the disorganization of the day manager on that shift. He could not seem to keep priorities in perspective and was clearly frustrating his staff. I recognized some of the more experienced servers, while some were new faces to me. The situation negatively affected our dining experience because customers SENSE what’s going on around them despite the servers’ best efforts to cope with bad management. Really not everyone is suited to management and the big boss better recognize that or their customer base will drop for that one simple reason. The boss needs to know how to fill positions — that’s how businesses succeed while others fail. The kitchen was not on the ball messed up another table’s order twice. Twice. Yeah. What is management for if not to forestall these problems? Check out the other reviews too — service is often poor but if you observe, it’s the kitchen which seems to be a big part of the problem.

Wish they would bring back the lobster grilled cheese sandwich, this location isn’t insanely busy that you have to wait a long time even if you don’t have a reso. Washrooms are huge but you have to walk back out to the entrance to get to them. Convenient location that you can enter from the front(street entrance) or from inside Madison Centre. Service has always been fairly good here never had any issues so I’d recommend this location specifically for parties or events.

worst service ever. I will never go back. cactus club has better service. They did not accommodate a woman with breast cancer celebrating her life before she started treatment. where is the humanity!

When I am in the mood for having a good time with friends, some drinks and be surrounded by a great ambiance I choose this place. They have a nice and well decorated patio for summer gatherings. I have never been disappointed with their service or their food since it is always consistent and I absolutely LoVE their chicken and tuna sandwiches. So delicious!

I went here on a Sunday around 2 and the service was sooo slow for an empty restaurant. There were a lot of staff pacing back and forth– I did not understand why we had to wait so long to place our order and pay the bill. The last time I was at this restaurant, I ordered the ahi tuna burger and it was delicious so I decided to order it again– complete miss! My boyfriend ordered a cheddar mushroom burger and it was very tasty! The meat was fresh and well seasoned. Our favorite part of both our meals were the fries!!! They were sooo good, we could have ordered extra servings had we not been stuffed! As always, the staff were friendly and the restaurant clean!

Slow service, mediocre food, bad service. Lunch today was not a big hit. Slow from the moment we walked in. At these prices you’d expect more for your money. They don’t treat customers who don’t order booze well. Slow inattentive server. I don’t think I will return to this or any other Cactus Club.

After a filling 2PM afternoon tea at Soffee Café, I was actually not hungry at 8pm when I met up with a couple of friends at Joey near Brentwood Mall. The location is slightly tricky to find but you can enter through the mall entrance on Rosser Avenue, opposite the grocery store. Inside, it’s really quite dim. Even closer to 10PM when it started to get dark out, lighting was skimpy at the upstairs patio. Otherwise the place is extensive and first impressions give it nice décor but the dim light makes it hard to get a proper look. Korean Fried Cauliflower($ 10) sweet & spicy korean chili miso, sesame seed — When I saw«fried cauliflower» I immediately thought of Nuba’s Najib’s Special and Jamjar’s Makali. What I got was nothing close. — Was the cauliflower fried? Maybe, as it was softer than raw cauliflower, but it didn’t have the same slightly-chewy softness and browned taste as deep-fried cauliflower. So don’t have your hopes up for another version of the Lebanese-restaurant appetizer. — Tasted like sweet sauce: The chili miso sauce dominated everything, and that is expected since cauliflower doesn’t have a particularly strong flavour and this appetizer doesn’t have the deep-fried flavour of the Lebanese version. — Sauce really rather sweet, though masked by the spiciness. You’ll really taste it when you are down to crumbs of cauliflower swimming in the stuff, so save a couple of bigger pieces for last, to scoop up the sauce — or simply let the remainder go. — As appetizers go, price is okay for portion(about 2 cups of cauliflower?). But I feel it is really too sweet to be tasty and you are basically tasting just the sauce. Orange Juice($ 4.50) — I asked if fresh-squeezed juice were available and they said yes, squeeze from actual fruit. — I watched them pour this out of a non-descript bottle. It had the same muddy look like Tropicana. I can only assume that the juice was pre-squeezed. — Doesn’t taste much better than Tropicana so this is not recommended if you demand fresh orange juice squeezed from an orange. Sure doesn’t taste like a fresh orange. Service was good considering our server said they were short-staffed. Noteworthy was how the server automatically divided the cost of one of our party’s appetizers by three, probably because she saw that we were all sharing it. Turned out the person who ordered it wanted to pay for the appetizer in full. This one time it «backfired»(probably more fair to say it was unnecessary), but points for the server paying attention to what was going on at our table.

Aside from the airhead hostesses(two of us standing there, we ask for a table for four, then they ask, is everyone here yet…) I just come here if I want chain restaurant food for lunch. Big space, office men gallop here during the workdays. They should do happy hour? The girls often wear short skirts so if that’s your thing…

Could’ve sworn I wrote a review for this place before but couldn’t find it anywhere. Anyways, the lounge on the main floor is fantastic the other night we went. We had a pretty blonde lady as our bartender and she was super-nice. Another time we came with a very large party and sat at the same section. Food was great but our waitress was not the best. At least they had a nice looking bartender who was very friendly, to make up for her lack of personality and service. Another time that we went for lunch. We sat at the top floor and the bartender was just nasty! She was rude, unfriendly, and disgruntled. Even the staff had nothing nice to say about her. The best part about the top floor is the skylight. Very bright in there! Food is very good. Here are some of the mentionables: Yam Fries & Truffle Lemon Aioli, Ahi Tuna Tacos, Sashimi Tuna salad — so good I wanted another plate Chicken Caesar salad. My new favourite drink: Elderflower Collins 7 ½ — 1 oz gin, elderflower, fresh squeezed grapefruit TIP: Don’t eat the pretty garnish. Looks nice, tastes bad!

This location is really nicely decorated, and the bathrooms are very impressive. We came here for our work Christmas party, a large group of 16. Huge groups can be challenging but we had good service and the food was amazing. I would recommend to anyone planning a large group dinner!

Same standard menu as the other locations. The lounge here is much brighter and open than the coquitlam location. Parking is a bit of an art in the underground parkade if you don’t enter directly off Lougheed hwy. The signage outside could be better to let people know where to park. Overall a nice casual atmosphere for power lunches, sports watching, or dinner with the family.

Came here for drinks/appy’s on Saturday. Their ceasar, as always, is amazing. The service was lovely and they were able to seat us right away in spite of the construction going on. Highly recommend.
