Haymack Auto Glass & Upholstery

So I needed to replace my windshield after something hit it while I was driving on the highway. Not only did it chip the windshield at the edge on the passenger side, it create cracks that eventually spread all the way to the middle of the driver side.
To be honest, I chose Haymack on First Ave only because it was the closest ICBC glass express shop near my work (less than 1 km away, so if I needed to, I could just leave the car at the shop and walk to/​from work).
However, I am super happy that I went with Haymack! I knew that no matter where I went, it would only cost me the deductible — so obviously price wasn’t going to be a factor in choosing a place. So, that just leaves customer service. And Haymack’s service blew me away.
I first went to see them on a Monday at lunchtime. I just wanted them to look at it and maybe make an appointment for another day for them to fix it. However, they said they could fix it that same day if I left it with them. Sweet! So I left it with them and I was going to walk back to work, but they were like, no we’ll drive you! Awesome!
I walked back to their shop after work (they offered to pick me up, but I felt like walking). From a block away, I could see my car waiting outside. Windshield fixed, yay! I went inside to pay. The first thing he says to me is «there’s good news and there’s bad news». Good news was that the windshield was obviously replaced. The bad news is that the windshield wasn’t quite up to their standards. I’m like, ooook? The guy explained to me that windshields are made in 3 pieces: the inside glass, the outside glass, and a film between the two. When he was cleaning the windshield after it was replaced, he saw a smudge. He couldn’t clean it off from the one side, so he tried cleaning the other side. Still a smudge. He tried cleaning again before it dawned on him that whoever manufactured the windshield must’ve left the smudge — it looked like a hand print! And the smudge was in the driver’s field of vision. So he told me all this and apologized, and he immediately offered to replace my newly replaced windshield the next day. Aaand, he would pick it up from my work and drop it back off, so that I’m not inconvenienced! I agreed to this, because who wants a smudgey hand print on their windshield? Not me!
To be honest, when I was driving back home after this first replacement, I could only notice the smudge sometimes in a certain light — maybe because it was already dark out. So perhaps during daylight, I might have seen it more. And if Haymack hadn’t told me about the smudge, I would’ve happily driven for a while and maybe not noticed it. And if I did notice, I would have probably just assumed that it was me and lived with it until the next time I cleaned my windshield. But who knows when that would’ve been, since I actually dislike cleaning the inside of my windshield, don’t ask me why, I just don’t like doing it.
But anyway, the next day they picked up the car in the morning from my work, and returned it back to me by early afternoon. No inconvenience for me whatsoever. However, Haymack must’ve thought it was a hassle for me (it really wasn’t), because when they dropped off the car, they apologized again. And they had replaced my wipers for free! And they had vaccuumed! I’m like whaat! That’s all so awesome! It really wasn’t necessary (I was just happy that I don’t have a cracked windshield anymore), but they really wanted to make it up to me.
Haymack is awesome, and unless I move to a different city, I will not go anywhere else for my automotive glass needs. They are professional, super friendly, and is super customer-​oriented, and they obviously take pride in their work. I would not hesitate for even a second to recommend Hayack on 1^st Ave!
