History
Established in 2013.
The Brampton Beast is a professional hockey team in the Central Hockey League.
The team was founded on January 2013 and is the first Canadian team in the league.
On April 22, the Brampton Beast announced Brampton Native, Mark DeSantis, as head coach of the team. DeSantis comes with many years of experience playing and coaching in the Central Hockey League. Previous to the Beast, DeSantis coached the Fayetteville FireAntz of the SPHL.
In June 2013, the Beast announced Brett Smith as their first player signing and later announced as the Captain for the team. Cal Wild and Brampton Native, Jason Pitton, were announced on July 9, 2013.
In August of 2013, the team became affiliates with the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning and the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch.
On October 18th 2013, the Brampton Beast played their very first game in franchise history against the Arizona Sundogs and had 5 – 4 victory. There were over 3000 fans in attendance that night.
