We had an amazing evening and enjoyed the winter menu. Highly recommend the chicken liver pâté and meatball main course. We will definitely be back! Great service too.

The sky opened up. A light came down. It hit the chef who came up with this. Heaven was created on Earth. Dans Brunch Poutine. A masterful eggs Benny gently lifted from the mundane landscape of an English Muffin and transported to the revelry of an acre of golden fries. OH. MY. GOD.

Good food, but didn’t quite live up to the hype.(the one exception: the french fries, perhaps the best i’ve ever had). Service was flawless(Trish).

Went for brunch and found the food and service to be mediocre. I was disappointed that the lunch menu wasn’t also offered on Sundays. It’s a nice restaurant and it seems their lunch and dinner would be better. The shop downstairs has unique bread loaves and a good selection of meat and cheese.

We ate dinner here tonight and we are all in agreement that it was impeccable from beginning to end. We ate in the restaurant, which has a full menu, as opposed to the patio which has more of a small plates sharing menu that we didn’t try, although we did have a drink first on the patio and really thought it was a nice little space. This was our third night eating out in the County, and sixth night eating out on holiday in rural Ontario, and so far we’ve been sincerely disappointed. In the county we ate at a very highly reviewed restaurant and at a new trendy hotel and neither meal held a candle to the food we ate at the Agrarian. We are going to find it hard to try another restaurant after this one. It rivalled any great city restaurant and had many little touches that were sympathetic to the fact that you were eating in the County. We were a party of three and shared the pea soup and charred broccolini caesar appetizers which were both perfect. The soup was smooth and wonderfully balanced and the caesar was so creative but most importantly amazingly tasty. Our mains were the steak, the tomatoes, and the fish and all three were impossible to find fault with. Everything was so fresh and carefully prepared, perfectly seasoned… we were very happy to finally have a meal that didn’t disappoint on any level. We finished with the peach dessert and it was so very yummy! The chef is very innovative without compromising assurance that the dish will please. We find it hard to find food that is not only new to our experience in composition but that is matched in its creativity by its freshness and taste. It is clear that every ingredient is of the highest quality and is carefully considered. The chef knows where his food comes from and this is important to us! Our compliments to the chef. The wine list was good too. We sampled two local wines, the Keint-He Charonnay and the Pinot Noir. This winery has come a long way in past years and the wines were excellent. It should be mentioned also that our server Evan had a great command of a very busy restaurant. He was very knowledgeable about the food and wine and attentive to all the tables while barely breaking a sweat. I read other reviews before ours and noticed that most complaints were about service but we really had a fantastic experience from that side. The owner is clearly dedicated and she’s very good at hiring excellent staff from what we saw on the patio, in the restaurant and in the market store downstairs. A tip: The market store is where you can buy the best picnic ingredients! They have an amazing cheese and charcuterie selection and fantastic bread. We stocked up for the beach days to come! I’m going to copy and paste this review onto Trip Advisor, so sorry to those reading it twice, but I’m out of words to describe how relieved we were to finally have a meal that was worth our money and that made our holiday better! We’ll be back for sure!

I was arrogant enough to think we wouldn’t need a reservation at the bistro for an early Saturday night dinner — wrong! All the tables were reserved inside so we headed to the patio that doesn’t take reservations. We had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated. It’s lovely place to sit with a great view of the street. The drinks menu had local beer and wine, and you could get a half pint so it’s easy to try them all. The food menu is definitely limited on the patio but my burger was quite good. The bucket of fried was just that, a bucket, definitely enough for two. The only downside was the service — it was just so slow. Our waitress was running around as fast as she could but they really should hire more people to serve the patio.

Local restaurants take notice. The Agrarian is everything you would want from a restaurant(and everything Drake Devonshire wishes it would be, but fails): –The service is fantastic; — they are accommodating of dietary restrictions despite a short menu; — the ingredients are local and farm-fresh; — the drinks are amazing I ordered the starter salad and the mushroom pesto tart with asparagus. They were both extremely fresh and delicious, but i particularly enjoyed the attention to detail for my main. The tart was light and flaky and the mushroom added a bit of a ‘meaty’ texture. Our server was friendly and very competent and kept the drinks coming(the caesars are spicy and made with a local tomato juice producer and the watermelon margarita is a must-try) and the water glasses filled. I had a great time — one of the most enjoyable meals in a while. We then moved down to the ‘speakeasy’ which is a cozy bar, converted from a market during the day. It is not quite a speakeasy in the traditional, prohibition-era style, but fun nonetheless. They had a couple of live bands, one of was vocal about being anti-416. I’m sure he realizes that most of the areas tourism dollars come from that area code. ;) Anyway, I will definitely be back!

Cesear Salad was lovely. The warm beet pizza I had was amazing. The only mistake was the local pinot. Not a desert eater, but the butter tart was terrific. We were last customers in restaurant and they were in no hurry to get us out.

An hour and a half for house salad and calamari. We seemed to be forgotten abt despite having reservations. Crust of the caramalized onion pizza was inedible. Very disappointed after reading such good reviews.

Went for dinner. Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in Canada since moving to toronto 8 months ago. Only been once while visiting the area, and I’m not sure when I’ll have a chance to go again, but based on that one dinner, this place is excellent. If you’re in the area, go there.

I randomly stopped by when they were setting up for a promotion for Muskoka brewery. They weren’t open yet but still invited me in to sample the beer and were kind enough to serve me early. They were doing a summer BBQ style dinner and I ordered the burger. Salads that came with it were tasty, the watermelon, feta, and sunflower seed was awesome. Burger was good too with an excellent garlic mayo I think. I would definitely stop in again if I’m in the neighbourhood.

Much different from the former chef/management that was there when it first opened. Food was fresh, seasonal, and delicious. I went for dinner on a weeknight last June. There was a bit of a wait for a table but they were very accommodating towards our 6 month old. My favourite thing I ate was a watermelon salad with chevre.

Excellent lunch at Agrarian. Both had pickeral, breading was perfect, fish flaky and moist. Flavor was right on the mark. Attentive and friendly staff. Will definitely be back again. No complaints. 5 stars!

Brunch Overall: 3.5÷5 Ambience: 3.5÷5 Service: 3.75÷5 Food: 3.5÷5(Notes: Tried their burger, which is apparently popular. But perhaps their shared plates– cured meats, cheese– & dinner options might be better). Value: 3.5÷5 Repeat: Not sure.

Very good lunch spot for our multi-generational family group today. Colouring placemats and crayons for the kids were a bonus. Our meals took a long time to arrive but were worth the wait. Highlights were the local pickerel in Beau’s beer batter, the Posh Grilled Cheese, and the chaucuterie platter.

We had an amazing dinner at Agrarian! I had emailed requesting for a reservation and even though I didn’t receive a reply — we stopped by anyway. They were able to accommodate our table for four with such grace. The staff and service were excellent. The speakeasy downstairs was super cute and the bartender made my husband dirty martinis which he loved(and he’s very picky). The dinner was excellent — my husband had the mussels, I had the steak and frites and the other couple with us had the pasta and salmon dish. Everything was very tasty! By far — our favourite part of the meal were those delicious frites… They were amazing!

Wow, this was next level awesome. Great service, fresh ingredients, big patio, and best of all Sriracha hot sauce to have with the grilled cheese. The brownie with peanut butter ice cream for desert is a must too.

A small bistro restaurant, the food is good but there is not much choice on their menu, The service is quite warm, nice place for tapas but not for dinner.

Interesting menu — small but mighty. Despite there only being about a dozen choices it was hard to pick! Decided to try a bit of everything. Cornbread with three purees was tasty with bacon purée topppng the list. The reuban was fantastic with the bread making it. Briscuit had wonderful flavour. We tried a few other things, but I don’t remember the names! We were there for dinner — and as some other reviewers mentioned, they don’t have a menu specific to dinner. We ate Family Style with everyone ordering something and shared it between all 6 of us. This worked well — however we found that each item is probably about right for 4 people to taste — so plan accordingly. Cute location, nice décor. Wait staff were all wonderful. We enjoyed our meal here! Would I return: Yes Would I recommend: Yes
