Mighty Auto

I have taken my car to Mighty Auto for many years — the service has been on a constant decline.
The lack of professionalism and courtesy is astonishing. I am appalled by lack of transparency and honesty in their business. «It’s all about you at Mighty», couldn’t be further from the truth. Absolutely little concern for their customers, and very condescending when replying to genuine concerns.
After an initial repair that they performed (in which they charged double for the repair, and then neglected to acknowledge that it was under warranty until I brought out their receipt!), the shop manager, Grant, told me to stop by in a couple weeks to complete a task that they were unable to perform (due to malfunctioning equipment). I made an appointment to complete the task — provided my name and number, and it was confirmed with my file on their system. I showed up for my scheduled time, and was told that I had missed my appointment. They had scheduled me three hours earlier, but failed to contact me as they «did not have any contact info». Absolutely no consolation was offered, and the manager just shrugged his shoulders. To make things that much more aggravating, the manager said that the equipment was still out of service, and they did not order in the parts. So even if by chance I did show up three hours early, Mighty Auto would have not even completed the task anyway! Why would they not inform me of this when I booked initially? I was not a new customer — my contact information is on the file. Not impressed, as this was the shop manager that I had spoken with throughout this entire ordeal (from booking to lack of service).
Get back to focusing on «It’s all about you at Mighty», At this rate (three 1-​star reviews just on Unilocal and Google within the span of just over a month), Mighty should rethink their operations; certainly not my vote for «consumer’s choice award».

I called Mighty Auto and inquired about checking my front brakes. I knew I needed my callipers and pads replaced and planned on doing it myself but wanted to double check with a pro. I was asked for my name, phone number, car make, model, year, licence plate and then told to bring it by before noon the next day. I arrived at 9:30am and was told that I was not ‘on the book’ and would have to wait, but that it shouldn’t be very long.
After waiting 2.5 hours they took my car out and test drove it, came back and told me I needed everything replaced on the front brakes.
I asked for a price and was quoted almost double what I had expected.
After I declined the service, they put the wheels back on very quickly. Once I got home I realized they did not torque my wheels correctly and had also put two of the wrong lug nuts on. (mine are 19’s and two of them were 18’s?!)
One of the incorrect lug nuts is completely stripped and I can’t even get the wheel off my car.
I was not impressed with this incident.
To top it all off, the guy running the counter really pissed me off with a sexual comment.
He said he ‘enjoyed looking at me’ — no wonder I had to wait so long. Creep!
