Whenever I’m in this area and I need a quick bite to wolf down in my car between meetings, I come to this A&W. It’s probably one of the best A&Ws I’ve been to. The service is always very polite and the food is great. I will not apologize for my unabashed love of A&W. They make a great burger and fries. I tried their pepper bacon Mama burger today with an order of their russet potato fries. The fries were amazing. Hot, potatoey, not requiring any ketchup or dipping sauce to hide a deficiency in flavour or texture. Whenever I eat fries at McDonalds, I can only manage to get through them by dipping them in sweet and sour sauce to cut some of the super salty taste of their fries. I can taste the potato in A&W’s fries. It’s a glorious thing. The pepper bacon Mama burger was super delicious. For a frozen burger patty, it was super moist and beefy. This is one of the only fast food frozen burgers that taste like actual beef to me. Amazing, but true. I opted out of the cheese on this limited offer burger, and it also came topped with peppered bacon, caramelized onions, and some kind of seasoned mayo. The flavour was outstanding. I wish they would add this burger to the regular menu. I would order it all the time.
