This restaurant is amazing! The salads were the best my husband and I have ever had! We actually shared our salads with each other. Both different and very unique. Our steaks were done to perfection. Definitely get the scallop potatoes. We were actually too full to get dessert, which was a shame because they too looked amazing. Waiter was very professional and friendly! When in the area I will definitely be back.

Cookstown salad — goat cheese was crumbly and warm — SO good. Braised short rib — came with side of potatoes(get scalloped — it’s coated in butter!). I didn’t like it the meat, my dining partner did. Duck confit — duck was tasteless and gamey… Disappointing. Potatoes were delicious. Both mains came with vegetables and really yummy creamed corn. They brought fresh bread with butter(the butter has honey in it!) throughout the meal. They also brought small dishes in between courses — breaded balls of some kind, one with fish the order with something else as well as a coconut sorbet.

This place feels like home. In fact, the restaurant itself looks and feels like you’re dining inside someone’s home — which isn’t a bad thing at all. Due to some miscommunication, my boyfriend and I did not make reservations for a Saturday night but decided to stop in and ask if they had any open tables. Lucky us, they had an opening at 8:30PM. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and had a great sense of humor. He was patient in explaining the specials to us and answering questions we had about the dishes and wine list. Unlike my other reviews, I am going to shy away from reviewing the food as Bistro Seven Seven features a rotating menu based on which ingredients are in season. I strongly believe that anything you order will be prepared perfectly and be one of your more memorable meals this year. The portion sizes are spot on and the prices are extremely reasonable. I don’t foresee myself being in Alliston anytime in the near future, but if I ever find my way back, returning to this restaurant will be a must.

This restaurant is exquisite. The service was impeccable — polished, professional, and yet very warm and friendly. The food was incomparable. I ordered the shortrib(which was incredibly tender and flavourful) and every item on the plate was the best version of that item I’ve ever tasted. The corn salad on the plate? Best corn salad I’ve ever had. The piece of squash on the plate? The best squash I’ve ever had. The piece of beet on the plate? The best beet I’ve ever had. Seriously. Seriously! It was all so delicious. I’m not really the kind of person who orders dessert, but my dining companion convinced me to try the crème brûlée. Oh my goodness! It was the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. So smooth and luscious. The food is very rich(I mean, I felt satiated and barely wanted to eat well into the next day), but you’re probably not going to eat this kind of food everyday so go ahead and be a gourmand glutton. It’s too good to pass on any of it.

What an amazing gem of a restaurant. Lots of variety on menu. Wonderful presentation. Everything was so tasty! Great service and good coffee too. Rainbow trout with lentils, vanilla bean brûlée were to die for. My partner had gnocchi and chocolate brownie with peanut butter cream. We will definitely return if in the area again

In a town that has so few culinary options this place is a gem. It was like finding a pearl in the middle of the surrounding acreage of farmland. A converted home with a cozy atmosphere, the food was fantastic. Excellent French inspired cuisine and the crab cakes are to die for.

I think this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The prices are good and the portions you get are at least double you’d get in the city. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell. The menunis traditional yet unique. Oh man, if your in the area don’t pass it up. In this Victorian house there are many small rooms and for larger parties toucan get a private room to yourself with a walk in closet !! We started with an Amuse Bouche which was fried rockfish and and quail salad on a chip. Excellent. Next honey butter and warm fresh dinner rolls. Yum. We had Appetizers: mussels with frites were good(the sauce excellent and comes with stewed tomatoes) and enough to share with another person($ 9). In between we were offered a sorbet. Wow I haven’t been to a place that gives me sorbet. I ordered the best gnocchi ever. I usually don’t like sundried tomatoes but it was a great complement to the creamy sauce infused with boar bacon(!) and mushrooms. Finger lick!($ 19) I also tried the beef short ribs($ 25) Falling off the bone and super tender. Same for the beef tenderloin. For dessert we had Apple in phllyo pastry. That was crunchy and tender with cinnamon ice cream and a cheddar buttermilk biscuit. There is also a super soft brownie with peanut butter whipped cream. Just when you thought it was over — they came with the most delicious square of chocolate roasted almond fudge, with a hint of sea salt. Savoury … Nomnomnom I found. This an excellent value for money and I’m planning my next visit !
