Great little Portuguese bakery, nice to have one here since we came from downtown and hey were everywhere. The breads are always good and the desserts are so so so GOOD! A bit on the too sweet side but that’s what dessert’s all about. The only downside is the service. It’s a hit or miss… there’s a couple of young girls that work the counter that seem unhappy when they work. But at least the baked goods make up for it.

This is a new location in Ajax. Company has been around for a while… I’ve tried different pastries here and it’s okay. Not the greatest. Fast service and friendly people overall.

I’m so glad that now we have a Portuguese Bakery in Durham area. Nova Era Bakery is a place where I love to go and meet with my frinds over a delicious sanduich and sweets. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Apparently Nova Era has been around Toronto for quite some time. This new location was recently established in North Ajax, and its about time! In the one hour that I was there on a rainy Saturday afternoon, this place was constantly visited by patrons.
When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly lady who was very attentive and polite throughout our entire visit. Needless to say the service was amazing. I quickly settled on the Chicken BLT (nova style), it was very good. I also tasted the canoli.yum.
This place bakes a variety of fresh breads daily and people just come in to buy the bread, grab some tasty pastries and leave. Mind you, there is place to sit and have a quick bite if you so choose.
Nice to visit, will be back again for sure.
