The Pirates Den Fish & Chips

I love Pirate’s Den. It is the absolute BEST fish n’ chips shop in Abbotsford. It’s been that way for at least 20 years as far as I’m concerned. A little sad to see it at a new location as the old one was more rustic and ‘sea shanty’ looking but the new location is fresh and bright. Coincidentally, so is their fish! Never soggy, lovely and crisp and fresh tasting. Service is pretty good, though leaves a bit to be desired. I think it’s because they’re not quite as busy as they once were so the servers don’t know how to deal with larger parties or more people in the restaurant.
Another amazing thing is that my friends and I went to Pirate’s Den for lunch after a camping trip. We took our dogs camping but there was no way we wanted to leave them in a stifling hot car during the summer so we asked if we could sit out on the patio with them. It was probably one of the loveliest meals I’d eaten that summer. Our puppies lounging at our feet, delicious fish n’ chips and bottomless soda. I’m a simple girl, it made my summer feel special. they have moved farther up in clearbrook across from the value village mall area, as the original site burned down, they have the same great staff and the same great food. the fish is fresh and they have great combos. defiantly a hit with my family
