Patna Sweets & Chat

The food was delicious, refreshing and nurturing. The service was prompt, courteous and personable. The seating is comfortable with wide booths, no loud music, and no fluorescent lighting in the dining area. There are televisions at comfortable angles. The facilities are handicap accessible. Everything is spotless.
When requested I was suggested a dish suited to my tastes and it was bang on.
I had the Tuesday Thali which was Makki Di Rotti Saron Da Saag.
On my way out the door I was offered a sample of their sweets (bakery). It’s as if a master chef took over Tim Hortons and made a miracle.
Do yourself a favour and visit Patna Sweets & Restaurant.

Bar far the best Indian food I have EVER had. Staff made us feel welcome (we’re white lol). BEST SAMOSAS EVER!!!

It’s a small sweet shop which serves food too. Delicious indian food! Papdi chaat and Chole Bature are my favorites here :)

We wandered into this little Indian sweet shop today looking for a bite to eat. Glad we did!
They offer a different thali each day of the week. Today’s was shahi paneer. For a very reasonable $ 6.99 we got:
— A generous portion of shahi paneer. The sauce had a very well balanced blend of spices without any single one overpowering the others. The paneer itself had a nice texture as well. Nice dish.
— A good sized portion of aloo gohbi. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly so that it was fully cooked without getting mushy. The potatoes also had the perfect consistency. The spicing on this dish was phenomenal. The heat was nicely balanced with the tomato and other rich flavours.

— A very nice dahi which had the perfect level of cooling and sourness to cut the spice of the aloo gohbi.
— Some freshly shredded cabbage and fresh slices of cucumber. Again, nice cooling flavours with good textural contrast to the other dishes.
— Some rice which had been flavoured with fennel seed.
— Two freshly made chapati, which were deliciously dripping with ghee. The ghee mixed with the nice char on the surface extremely well. Delicious!
Yes, all of that for $ 6.99. Quality at a good price. Can’t beat that!
We also tried the paratha, which had some aloo inside. These were also freshly made to order, had a nice spice kick, and came with a yogurt side to balance the heat from the spices.
As we were paying they gave us a sample of one of the Indian sweets which is made from squash. I don’t know the name of it. It was too sweet for my taste, but I sadly find many Indian sweets to fall into that category — my fault — not Patna’s!
Overall a great quick meal, with really friendly service! If in the area I would certainly return for the daily thali special again and see what I get!
