Meringues the size of your head.
I got quite a bit from Elisabeth. Even if it wasn’t for me… I wish it was, but I hope the gifts were enjoyable to the people who got them. I certainly enjoyed what little chocolate and speculoos I bought from the shop.
First day in Brussels and met with meringues so gorgeous and beautiful that it may be one of my only regrets of the trip— not having tried a single Elisabeth meringue. They knew what they were doing with that jar full of treats. Now that I’m home, I see large meringues in bakeries, but they are in no way comparable. Alas… perhaps Everard t’Serclaes will bless me with a return to Brussels in my future.
Prices at Elisabeth are a little more reasonable than some shops in the area. Honey ginger bread went for € 6 for a full loaf. Chocolate was still pretty expensive but still a contender with the other chocolatiers in the neighborhood. I also really enjoyed the speculoos. It has it’s own flavor and theirs was a very hearty little biscuit.
Elisabeth sweets certainly heightens the fancy-​meter for anyone’s tea time. Something I will sorely miss.

Einer der vielen Schokoläden in Brüssel.
Dieser Laden hat es mir aber besonders angetan. Der erste Eindruck was das für mich toll dekorierte Schaufenster. Der Laden erstreckt sich über drei Läden. Alle sind eins aber jeder bietet im einzelnen verschiedene Sachen. Schokolade, Macarons und Baiser.
Der Duft und die Auswahl lassen die Augen leuchten und einen das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen.
Das Personal ist freundlich und hilf bei der schwierigen Auswahl. Man darf sich auch durchprobieren.

La rue du Beurre, c’est la rue de toutes les tentations. Je crois bien que tous les chocolatiers de la ville y ont une boutique. Pas facile de faire un choix, alors j’ai opté pour cette jolie boutique dont que je né connaissais pas du tout mais qui était très appétissante avec ces truffes au chocolat, ces gaufres et autres spécialités belges et chocolatées.
Je n’ai pris que du chocolat chez Elisabeth et il était délicieux ! La preuve, je suis revenue le lendemain pour faire des cadeaux. Le service est discret mais efficace et très serviable. Les packaging sont classe, il y a aussi de jolies boîtes en métal pour les gaufres. Certains produits né sont pas fabriqués par Elisabeth mais ils sont tout de même sélectionnés avec soin pour leur qualité.
A coup sur, lorsque je reviendrai à Bruxelles j’irai chez Elisabeth !

The best of this particular chocolate store is their milk and dark chocolate marshmallows.
It’s not your typical store bought $ 1 marshmallows.
It’s probably one of the best marshmallows I’ve ever had– sweet, rich, creamy, and just falls apart and melts in your mouth.
At the bottom is this delicious soft cookie like biscuit that just makes the whole experience 100x better

Elisabeth is not to be missed! I arrived in Brussels ready to try as much chocolate as humanly possible, and on this mission I came up with a list of chocolatiers who were something special, even in Belgium, and Elisabeth definitely makes that list.
I only tried the mello-​choc (I believe they are called that?) chocolates, but they were really delicious and you could tell they were made with skill and love. A mello-​choc is basically a chocolate-​coated marshmallow, but simple as it sounds, it tastes amazing. If I am ever in Brussels again, I am definitely going back for that and to try more. I wish we had a branch in London!

Cute boutique store with four locations all around the same area. There are two separate storefronts, one selling chocolates and another meringues. The chocolates here are delicately crafted and each have very distinct and well balanced flavors. The meringues also come in a variety of flavors and sample packages are available for purchase if you are looking to taste them all.

Amazing chocolates! We had already gotten chocolates from Leonidas but I wanted to find a more local chocolaterie. And then we stumbled upon this charming little shop. The chocolates are incredible! Very unique flavors! You’ll taste chocolate with all sorts of herbs and spices and citrus and everything else. And it all works together wonderfully! It is a little more expensive than the mainstream shops but so worth it!

As I went about tasting and picking up chocolates from various shops, I walked by Elisabeth and decided to take a look. It’s a small shop, a bit crowded, but with good reasons why. Though not as fancy looking as some of the other favorites of mine, don’t just a book by its cover — its chocolate and candies (especially the white gooey fluffy candies with nuts and berries and all sorts of goodies mixed in) are absolutely delicious and top notch. This place definitely made it on my top 3 favorites in Belgium (Elisabeth, Pierre, and Neuhaus!), and I can’t wait to come back and pick up more goodies!

Et l’accueil dans la boutique était ultra souriant et agréable.

Petite découverte pas plus tard qu’hier lors d’une balade dans le centre de Bruxelles. Difficile de né pas s’arrêter net devant la vitrine lorsque d’énooooormes meringues sont en exposition !
On a craqué pour une meringue au chocolat, délicieux bien que pas donné mais c’était tellement bon qu’on en oublie vite le prix !

Right off of the Grand-​Place in historic Belgium, this little chocolate shop was one of the highlights of my European experience and existence. While living in the south of France two things brought me to Brussels semi-regularly…one was my hair, and the other was Elisabeth. Yes, their truffles are really that good. There is both a richness and a lightness in every nibble combined with amazing use of texture. You just have to try it for yourself.

Je pensait que toutes les chocolaterie autours de la grand place étaient des attrapes-​touristes où l’on refourgue gaiement des produit d’une qualité douteuse car le client n’est que de passage.
Et bien j’ai du ravaler mes idées pré-​conçus en découvrant ce magasin.
Il faut dire qu’une amie à moi y a été embauché et que j’ai eu la chance de faire de nombreuse dégustations gratuite.
Alors croyez moi je vous garantie que vous pouvez craquer pour leur truffes au chocolat, elles sont parfaites.
Concernant les prix je pense malheureusement que ce n’est pas donné vu la qualité des produit.
Une solution: faite vous des amies chocolatière!
