i have cycled on the cyclepath next to this business for years. I’m not sure how long it has been there. i had no idea. thanks to Unilocal i found it. gorgeous coffee. nice cool shop on such a hot day. this has to have been one of the most beautiful coffees that i have tasted. sublime. i usually buy Black Sheep at Mount Gravatt market on a Sunday… that is also an excellent coffee with super friendly staff.

Tried this place out earlier this week. Was a little hard to find, no signage as yet. I recommend grabbing a park wherever you can find one and taking a stroll, follow your nose — I smelt the coffee before I saw the coffee. They are only doing take away coffee at the moment, not a deal breaker for me. Coffee was good, a little hotter then I like mine, so I will ask for it a little cooler next time. Service was fine. Keen to see how this place evolves…

Driving towards the industrial end of Norman Street, I worried when my GPS said, «Your destination is on the right.» I couldn’t seen any visible signs that there was a Black Sheep Coffee roastery to my right. That is until I spied an ever so tiny sandwich board that read«takeaway coffee here» in the corner of the wide open warehouse door. Black Sheep, which people may be familiar with from their stall at the Rocklea markets, have set up shop and roastery in this industrial warehouse. As you can imagine, given the space, it’s a blank canvas and very much still a work in progress. The shelves are built but awaiting to be filled and while there’s some beautiful wooden stools to sit upon as you sip your coffee, there’s no cakes or café menu to pair with said coffee. I say this only to warn you that this isn’t a weekend brunch spot! Take-aways come in two sizes 8oz and 12oz. Along with take away lattes, hot chocolates and iced coffees, you can also buy your take-home beans.

Wonderful smooth coffee. It is a great hidden Gem. Definitely now my favorite café in all of Brisbane.
