My new favourite brunch spot in Perth! Piccolo’s Corner has that homey feel to it, like Grandma’s house from your childhood fairytale stories. It’s tiny and cosy, with a big garden and rather tasteful china. We went on a Saturday morning, and the café was packed full, as predicted. Luckily we were able to secure a seat outside, under the roof too, which was very useful as it rained something terrible that day. I ordered the famous mashed pumpkin on toast while my friend tried the avocado on toast, the waitress informed us that there will be a 35 minutes wait on our order, but it was fine with us. We had our drinks and the conversation was interesting enough that the wait for our food went by like a breeze. The avocado on toast was covered with fried chorizo bits, which was delicious! The chorizo was cripy and flavourful, while the avocado seasoning well balanced. You really could find no fault in this dish. The mashed pumpkin, on the other-hand, was even better! Now I know why this dish is so popular, I don’t even like pumpkin and I’ve finished every last bite of that dish! The pesto sauce worked really well with the sweet pumpkin mash, the poached egg was the perfect addition. I’m just happy this place is so close to my GP placement, will definitely visit again next time I’m in the area!

This is a great little suburban café in West Leederville. They make great coffee and have a lovely selection of cakes and other goodies. We had breakfast on this visit. I had the scrambled eggs which were very tasty, my husband has the beans and chorizo and he thought they were delicious!

This is probably my most favourite breakfast location in Perth. It’s a tiny little brekkie joint tucked away in West Leederville and it always has a massive queue to get into it. Wonder why? Well… that’s because the food here is absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. The place has atmosphere. From vintage plates and chairs to kitschy salt and pepper shakers and knick knacks. The juices are amazing and fresh. The food is out of this world. Mmmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about their pesto. Don’t get disheartened if you have to wait for a table. Just make sure that you get here before you are starving. The counter staff will let you know what the wait time for food is approximately so wait it out. It’s worth it.

This place makes me want to move in next door and have breakfast there every day! Such treats and goodness and it feels so homely. Prices are reasonable and plates of deliciousness ensue. I love that the owner always pops around to say Elli and check in too.

This place is gorgeous! Packed with personality, very cute and has a fun little courtyard. Staff were really lovely and helpful even though I took ages to decide. My baked beans were delicious if somewhat small and oily but really good nonetheless. The ciabatta is lovely and soft while still being nice and crusty. Definitely would recommend it! Good luck with the parking though.

I love finding tucked away cafes. At last Piccolos in St Leonard st Leederville makes a hot latte. Good place for brunch as its small but kitchen is close and juicer is competing with thunder. Mushroom brochette is tasty.

11 months ago Places like this is what PERTHNEEDS. It’s like Sayers– GREATFOOD, STAFF, COFFEE. Everything ticks the boxes. Last year I had a tragedy with my dad and I recognised the owner here as well. She knew what had happened and was so sympathetic. I could not believe it was her when I entered here though. I am often here with my twin sisters as well and the staff always recognise us. She has done the most amazing jobs with this place. The smashed avo and salmon breakfasts are spot on, the coffee is brilliant and the crème is always consistent with my long blacks. Keep it up guys.

Amazing food, the smashed avo with chorizo was a hit with both of us and the coffee is great! The décor is really funky, I have a soft spot for places that make you feel like you’re in a secret garden. The staff are really nice and friendly and keep on top of clearing away dishes on the tables, however the reason for only 4 stars is because the wait for our food was pretty close to an hour. We were ready to devour the waiters arm by the time our food arrived.

Piccolo’s Corner is located on the corner of two leafy streets in West Leederville, and is one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of places. You certainly wouldn’t expect anything remarkable from the outside, but I’d heard many good things so decided to check it out for myself. It’s open from 7am-4pm Tuesday to Friday, 8am-2pm on weekends. We went there first thing on a Saturday morning, and it was full about two minutes after opening. I had to join a queue of five people just to get a menu! It’s all very quaint inside, and there’s also an outside seating area so it’s bigger than it looks at first glance. here are lots of sweet treats to be had at the counter for that all important second-breakfast, and their coffee — which was excellent — is from Five Senses. There’s some really interesting stuff on the menu, but you can still get eggs on toast if you like. Renay chose the cherry tomato & basil pesto bruschetta with Danish feta, crispy bacon and a fried egg($ 19). This dish was so fresh, the fried egg perfectly cooked and the bacon was super crispy. I chose the house-made beef & pork meatballs with a «rich ragu», basil pesto, parmesan, garlic-rubbed ciabatta and a perfect poached egg($ 20). Wow. These were hands down the best meatballs I’ve ever eaten, and the sauce was, as advertised, beautifully rich. The poached egg was a decadent extra, and this dish would be good at any time of day or night. One of my all time favourite breakfast dishes. So yes, our breakfast was fantastic — great coffee, food and service with a really nice vibe. One thing I would point out is that it wasn’t a quick place to eat — we were there well over an hour — but then again, this isn’t the CBD and we found that the relaxed surroundings made us forget about the time. A small negative was that we bought a couple of jam doughnuts for later and they were very bread-y, so I’m guessing they weren’t fresh that day. My Mum loved her muesli slice, however. Given everything else, I’ll forgive them for that, and will be back to Piccolo’s Corner again. It’s plain to see why it filled up within minutes of the doors opening, and the locals must hate that«outsiders» have discovered their secret. Highly recommended.

Mushroom bruschetta with wilted spinach and poached egg– no bread so served in this cute ramekin — plus sides of smashed avocado and bacon $ 23 at Piccolo’s Corner in West Leederville. Food was delicious, perfectly cooked egg, and wonderfully smooth Five Senses coffee. It’s a quirky tiny café with mismatched crockery, cutlery and furniture with a cute Op Shop at the back. Popular on weekend mornings and worthy. Would go back

Early morning breakfast before a vintage market, very cool setup with a courtyard and op shop to boot. Great feel and staff are spot on. The coffee and shakes came out quickly and hit the spot, food was awesome the mushroom bruschetta satisfied all of my tastebuds and left me feeling very content. All breakfast were enjoyed, and I look forward to coming back and trying the house made meatballs highly recommend

Wonderful street corner CAFE. Been coming here a while even though I’m not really local! Coffee is excellent and quick takeaway. Best to sit in for breakfast though. Great atmosphere. Staff are lovely and remember regulars.

The inside of Piccolo’s Corner is really cute and kitschy. Think an eclectic mix of retro décor with funky graffiti writing and an array of flowers everywhere. It’s small, squishy but it all adds to the vibe. They were definitely bustling behind the counter non-stop. We place our orders then relax outside and wait for our food and drink to arrive. The drinks take about 20 minutes to come out which is a little longer than I would have thought but we may have hit the busy period. Either way it wasn’t a big deal and we were happy to dive straight into them. My orange juice is cold, light and definitely freshly squeezed, but wasn’t quite as sweet or sour as I’d hoped — but considering we’re outside of orange season I should have expected as much. Either way though it was still a tasty drink and a nice way to wake up tastebuds up. My boy’s banana smoothie is made with the addition of oats, yoghurt and honey. I love the serving bottle and the flavour — it’s thick, creamy and filling. The use of the honey and oats adds to the banana taste and rounds it out as a really nice smoothie. He definitely was pleased with this order! Our breakfast dishes come out about 15 minutes later and immediately I’m taken with the adorably mismatched vintage plates. It all adds to the overall theming they have here — no wonder it’s so fiercely loved by locals and breakfastphiles. My boy’s dish is the smashed avocado and lime with chorizo, balsamic glaze and poached egg($ 18.50). Piled high but neatly on toasted ciabatta, it’s a really simple but pretty looking dish. The chorizo is meaty, lightly grilled and slightly spicy. I really liked the flavour of the avocado which is citrusy but still creamy, ticking all the boxes. Very tasty! I think for me, I would have liked more avocado on the dish — it just needed a bit more in the serving size to go with the amount of bread accompanying it. But this is a common thing I find with avocado dishes — they’re an expensive fruit these days so many breakfast places tend to be pulling back on the serving… something I find a little disappointing. My breakfast dish of choice was the smashed pumpkin with wilted spinach, Danish feta, pesto and poached egg on toasted ciabatta($ 17.50). It’s a deliciously and purposely messy pile, showcasing the ingredients proudly. I held my breath as I cut into the bread… it was soft and fluffy(no chainsaw required here). And then again when I tentatively poked my poached egg — only to let loose a torrent of vividly orange yolk. Cue satisfaction! The pumpkin is tender and sweet, working well with the creamy and decadent feta and punchy pesto. I thought the dish was clever and a nice variation on standard breakfast menus while still staying simple. While I thought all the ingredients complimented one another, I did find the dish a little bit on the sweet side because of the plethora of pumpkin. Perhaps a bit more seasoning would have solved this easily. That said though, I can see why this is one of their most popular menu items, it was very enjoyable. All up I thought Piccolo’s Corner was a sweet and charming breakfast venue. It’s very simple, but their flavours work well. I do think that the wait for drinks and food was a little on the slow side — especially as I noticed the couple next to us didn’t get their coffees until halfway through their meal(they ordered before us). But beside that it was a nice little neighbourhood spot and a place I can see myself coming back to again.

This little gem of a café is hidden away on a random corner in west leederville in the middle of house so u might need ur gps to find it. But it definitely worth finding. It is very much a breakfast place and the food is excellent. The café itself is so cute and staff are lovely. Though be prepare to cue, or of u have ur own fold out table and chairs, bring them along and sight outside saves waiting for a table. Though it is worth the wait.

Inventive and colourful brunch options in a cool little café tucked nicely into suburbia. Nice little patio area out the back where you can soak up the rays. I recommend the Beetroot pesto option, and my friend never goes past the pumpkin options. All that said, I’ve never had a bad breakfast here.

I LOVE everything about this place. The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because it doesn’t take bookings and I’ve tried to eat there more than once but can’t get in! I absolutely love the menu, it’s actually hard to choose what to eat but I always get the Avocado Smash with Chorizo and a Poached Egg — amazing. This meal never lets me down and it’s so fresh and delicious. The coffee is also yum and so is the fresh apple juice. The service is always great and they now take cards which is easier than making sure I always have cash. The selection of muffins looks so good and homemade so I’ll be trying that next. I also love that on Saturday morning they had a window open for take away coffee before the café opened. Great idea! It’s an ideal place to sit and have a chat and a drink in their gorgeous courtyard.

I really love the decorations and vintage look which makes Piccolo’s Corner homely, unique and quirky. We had a choice of sitting at the courtyard or inside. As it was a bit chilly, we decided to sit inside but I had a look at the courtyard and it was beautiful and cosy. It looks like a great place to catch up with friends and chill out. I ordered the Piccolo’s Breakfast($ 17.50). It came with free range poached eggs with bacon, avocado and spicy capsicum relish served on toasted ciabatta. The Piccolo’s Breakfast was executed perfectly, with the poached eggs being cooked perfectly with that oozing yellow liquid of goodness. I love the spicy capsicum relish and I thought that it blended well with the whole dish overall. It was indeed a great post BodyCombat workout meal. Mum ordered the Smashed Pea and Avocado with Lime, Smoked Salmon, Balsamic Glaze, Rocket Salad and a Poached Egg with Toasted Ciabatta($ 18.50). When I go out with my parents, we always rotate our dishes so each of us get to have a little taste test of what we ordered. I enjoyed mum’s dish as well and thought that it was very fresh and full of flavour. From the recommendation of the staff, dad ordered the Smashed Pumpkin, Danish Fetta and Wilted Spinach on Toasted Ciabatta with Homemade Pesto and Poached egg($ 17.50). The smashed pumpkin dish was as good as the other dishes we ordered and I can see why the smashed pumpkin dish is very popular. The Homemade Pesto was perfect and complements the dish well. After a very satisfying lunch, we decided to order some coffee and cake. The cakes looked very tempting and I could not decide which cake to get. In the end, we settled for the Orange and Almond cake($ 7.50) and the Mixed Berry and Almond Polenta($ 7.50). My verdict? The cakes were amazing! There was a perfect balance to it and it was not overly sweet. I highly recommend you to order the cakes too when you have coffee. For all those coffee lovers, Piccolo’s Corner do serve good and quality coffee too. My family and I enjoyed dining at Piccolo’s Corner and will definitely be back in the future. The service was friendly and efficient. If you are one of those who love having a good breakfast to start off their day or a delicious brunch or lunch, I highly recommend this hidden gem to you for delicious, simple and homely food. One tip that I should let you know before coming is that Piccolo’s Corner only takes cash, so make sure you bring some cash along when you want to visit Piccolo’s.

While staying in Perth, this cute little café was just down the street from me! I decided to come here for brunch and work on a report that needed to be complete. When you walk in, the menus are right next to the order counter so it can be kind of difficult to grab one if there is a line. I had to make a pretty quick decision when it was my turn and decided to go for the smashed avocado with chorizo, poached egg, balsamic glaze and parmesan on ciabatta! WOWOW! My dish was SO delicious that I wanted another dish to come out after I had finished my first one. The smashed avocado was perfectly ripe and ready to eat and the chorizo was bursting with flavor and had a slight kick. They generously covered one piece of ciabatta with avocado and chorizo. The other ciabatta piece had the poached egg and parmesan. I loved my dish but it was on the higher end of the menu being $ 18.5. After finishing my meal, I stayed and worked on my report and enjoyed seeing the families that would stop in or workers in the area stopping in for a pick me up. The staff took my plate away and had no issues with me staying and working on my laptop. I really liked that and worked a few more hours before heading out for more Perth adventures. This is a great spot and a fun place to go with your friend or even go by yourself. If this café was in my neighborhood, I would be a a frequent customer!

What a gorgeous little café. The interior and exterior is super cute and eclectic and you can tell someone has put a lot of thought into each piece displayed in the café or in the courtyard. They’re growing their own herbs and veggies outback where you sit to use in their meals. They serve breakfast all day, and that is their main menu. A few cakes and sandwiches are on offer for lunch and morning and afternoon tea, but no salads. The food was awesome. I had the smashed avo and smoked salmon, and it came on the most incredible bread. My friend ordered the scrambled eggs and she was equally impressed. Serving sizes are decent and service was friendly and fast. Tempting cakes on display are baked in house. Why the sparkling review and only 4 stars? There is no air-con at all and the inside is super hot in summer. Also they’re cash only, which is annoying in a hub like Mt Lawley or Leederville, but when you’re a neighbourhood café it’s really not good enough. We ended up spending at least $ 20 less on our lunch for two as a result.
