Perfect Potion

Super awesome little place with excellent staff.
Straight Outta Canada and found a favourite place already!
I bought some dog shampoo which I’m excited to use tomorrow.
I also bought some insect repellent which I have on right now while we wait for the barbecue to get started and it’s working fantastic and smells great without the harmful chemicals!
I almost bought out the whole store but luckily I had some self control.

Skincare, aromatherapy and workshops on making your own at-​home natural cleaners. Perfect Potion’s West End store has it all. Nestled in a smaller store along Vulture Street, just before Coffee House West End, I stopped in recently specifically for a few of their essential oil blends to use in an air diffuser in my office. Depending on what it is you seek, they have a range of oils suited to everything from focus to evoking sleepiness and relaxation.
This store feels a little more homey and true to their roots than some of their other stores and I’m sure the location as everything to do with that. As with other experiences in Perfect Potion stores, the staff have been able to go above and beyond to help and are always eager to answer any questions you may have about products and how best to use them. Case in point: add your essential oil purchase to a carrier oil (almond or apricot kernal for example) to be able to wear it as a moisturiser.

Apart from the fantastic products, the service here is BRILLIANT! It’s not fake, salesy ‘I desperately need to meet my target’ service but a genuine offer to assist. This store is especially focussed on the personalised service. Even whilst serving me, the assistant took time to acknowledge customers walking in by a simple smile. She was also really helpful when I changed my mind as she was about to gift wrap and I chose a different product. Fabulous service isn’t that hard as this lovely assistant shows!
Oh and the company isn’t owned by L’oreal, unlike The Body Shop. Bonus!

West End has some «go to» places when I’m in need of a gift. (or intending to buy a gift but end up just buying something for myself) Avid Reader is one. Perfect Potion is another. The girls here always know their products and I love that everything has a tester so that I can smell and feel the potions. There’s always some tea to try and mists of fragrant steam to walk through. If someone were to buy me a gift from here (HINT HINT!) I would be well pleased with whatever it was they chose.

I absolutely love this beautiful little store. The design and layout are flawless, their products are fantastic and the staff are incredibly friendly. Instead of the run of the mill, ‘let me know if I can give you a hand’ speech, one of them said ‘if you want any help or some herbal tea just let me know’. I was a bit taken aback by her offer of herbal tea. Was she serious? I love herbal tea, why did I say no?
As I pondered the logistics of such a service in a store with no apparent seating and numerous ‘testers’, I continued to browse through their huge selection of bath and body products. It really is great stuff that I highly recommend, and what a lovely environment to purchase it in.

The only place I could get a specific naturally occuring oil for my poor pregnant belly stretch marks.
Cosy and quaint, I love this shop. It has everything and everything that can be mixed into everything. You can create your own scent here by mixing different perfume oils together. They also smell nice when you enter, the staff are really knowledgeable about all that hippy trippy stuff, lavender oil being better for females than males, that sort of information if you’re interested in how they make the oils and lotions.
I also got some shampoos for my babies that did not contain any mineral oil, and were digestible. always good when they’re going through the putting everything in their mouth stage.
It’s a great holistic store with groovy ambience, I would definetely go back to get more of the non-​mineral oil based shampoo and conditioner… hard to get anywhere else really.

I know the name PERFECT POTION
evokes witchcraft and general skullduggery,
but before you arm yourself with that wand Harry Potter
head down to West End and sooth those frayed nerves
with some eucalyptus balm.
Perfect Potion is a relaxed and friendly aromatherapy and
holistic store situated in Vulture St.
Adding to the general West End vibe,
whenever I’ve walked past there is soothing music
and a charming little pot that sits outside puffing out sweet smelling clouds.
They offer a large range of essential oils and creams
as well as natural products like shampoos, soaps, deodorants
and even babycare.

I absolutely LOVE Perfect Potion! It’s such a shame I can’t get this in the US of A. The stuff is kinda like The Body Shop but better, kinda like Jurlique but cheaper.
Whenever I get the chance when visiting Brisbane, I try to book a massage here The smells of the natural oils are intoxicating and I know it just soothes me whenever I enter the store. I usually buy some sprays and products for my skin to bring back with me.
I also like the fact that their packaging is still in glass bottles (not great when you’re transporting it across the ocean) and the dark glass helps the product on the inside keep better. Because the stuff is so natural, they do tend to expire and when they do the smells and aromas change, so use them up before the expiration date!
