I have a problem with this place.
From one hand — oh my, the selection! And the prices!
On the other hand — we spent there an hour just to get a backpack. No, mind you, not because we couldn’t decide which one. It was because the staff person that was looking after us kept running away and working with other clients. And by that I mean really spending with each one of them for more than 10 – 15 minutes at the time.
You’d say — great! Isn’t that what we want as customers? To have attention when picking i.e. trekking boots or a backpack that’s supposed to be with us for good few years?
Well yes. And no. I would not mind that full attention — if it wasn’t shared with others. We really wanted that backpack, price was great and it was comfy, but we did have questions. And wanted to see other options. Each time we asked a question, we got the response and were left for another 10 – 15 minutes. Of doing nothing and wandering around the store.
After an hour of ups and downs, we decided to grab the backpack, skip the questions, pay and leave. Even that part still took time, as all the staff was around the shop, not by the counter.
On the other hand as I said. Store is really nicely equipped with good quality camping/​hiking/​travelling gear. It has two floors, one with tents (upstairs) and one with everything else. It’s very spacious and easy to wander around.
But. I think next time we’ll order online…

Fantastic store for backpacking and hiking. Prices are far better than more well known stores and the staff are super friendly and helpful!
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to start their kit, they have all the basics and can talk you through what you need. They are honest about what is essential and what’s a «luxury» item.
