Experience in this café was not great. I have tried various Coffee Clubs before, and not been impressed, but decided to give this one the benefit of the doubt. Alas, it had the same problem that all coffee club cafes have, too much variety on the menu for such a tiny kitchen. It results in food not being cooked properly and very average quality. I had a bowl of wedges which was dessert bowl sized and had a tiny little bowl of sweet chilli and sour cream — the wedges were under cooked and there was no where near enough of them, and no where near enough sweet chilli and sour cream for the amount of wedges that i had. And it cost me $ 12.90! In my opinion this was a lot to pay for such a small bowl of wedges. Also for a place that calls themself the Coffee Club — they managed to burn my black coffee! NOTIMPRESSED! I know that the choices for eating at Harbor Town are very limited — but I will not be returning to the coffee club for a long while.

Meh. One of the few places for coffee here that isn’t Gloria Jeans. The coffee is so so, but they do have a tendency to burn it. Also be patient as there is normally a wait on weekends. I wouldn’t bother with the food. I find it over priced for the quality of what you get. I paid $ 16.90 for a club sandwich that I had to take apart to find the chicken and bacon and my friends wedges were so-so as well. If you are just popping in for coffee and a cake then you should be fine. Depending on how fussy you are about your coffee.

My first experience with the Harbour Town Coffee Club was dismal to say the least. After a very wet winter sports training, seven of my teams mate and I decided to warm ourselves up by enjoying a coffee and some breakfast at The Coffee Club. We walked through the doors at 9:50am to escape the pouring rain only to be told we had to leave as they didn’t officially open until 10. So eight potential customer were asked to stand outside in the freezing wind and rain. As we got rained on, the staff were visibly socialising amongst themselves and indulging in kitchen prepared food. I understand that yes, they don’t officially open until 10:00am but considering that the store was completely staffed, I see no reason at all that you should ask eight customers to leave with under 10 minutes to opening time If I didn’t want to write a review, I would have not waited around to give The Coffee Club my service. So to the food and coffee. In one word: Overpriced The coffee was nice but charging $ 4.90 for a standard long black with no specific origin or alternative blend is unusual. The food is presented well and taste nice but nothing really stood out. This review seems to be slightly influenced by my first impression but in hospitality first impressions are crucial. I’m not sure what The Coffee Club’s customer service tactics are, but asking patrons to wait outside in the rain whilst the staff socialise will not have me coming back.

So The Coffee Club at Harbour Town is possibly the only café worth popping in to if you’re desperate or keen on a coffee after splurging on discounted goodies at the complex’s many shops. Firstly, I’ve had a few experiences here, and of most big chain café’s, it really does boil down once again to who is actually making your coffee or cooking/serving your food. I’ve eaten here once, and will be hesitant to eat again. I just wanted a pie of some sort with my coffee and opted for an apple pie, it looked good from the outside and decently priced. I discovered fake apples and stale pastry; I was not happy. I recently popped in for a coffee another time and it wasn’t too bad I have to admit, but the barista had definitely changed, which is a good thing, don’t get me wrong! The atmosphere is pretty nice and although the service is not 5 star, it really is the only place in Harbour Town worth stopping for a coffee. That said, I haven’t really delved too far in to the food side of things, but I normally make an assumption of if the coffee is okay, the food will be too. I’ll eat here sometime soon to trial it for myself, for now though, in the middle seems fair.

I’m a regular customer at the Henley Coffee Club, and I’m usually content with going to that café alone. I wasn’t keen on trying the one at Harbour Town, purely because I’m used to the one down at Henley. I’m getting sidetracked aren’t I? The point I was trying to make is that The Coffee Club at Harbour Town is just as good. The food was good, the coffee was delicious, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. When it comes to cafes the atmosphere is almost more important then the quality of the food. If the set up is awesome and the food isn’t, I’d still go to a café just to chill. Anyway… if you’re looking to have a coffee break after your shopping trip at Harbour Town, I’d venture down to The Coffee Club and take a seat outside and enjoy the view.
