This new ²⁴⁄₇ gym opened in mid-​December 2011 along Hamilton Road. They claim it’s from $ 1 a day with no lock in contracts.
I took a tour and all the equipment is brand new, very sparkly. Lots of cardio equipment — bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers. A full range of pin weights as well as free weights, exercise balls and a stretching machine, plus shower facilities.
It will be staffed between 9am-​1pm and 3pm-​7pm each weekday and 9am-​4pm on Saturdays.
I am interested in finding a fully flexible gym, however after reading the fine print, the weekly option is not that flexible. You pay fortnightly and pay a month in advance, so when you want to cancel you still have 4 weeks notice. I am still trying to find a gym that allows me to do one week on, one week off, but no luck yet.
However, I do think this gym sounds very affordable. $ 11.95 a week for weekly members and if you sign up with a friend/​family you both only pay $ 9.95 a week. Or if you want to pay upfront for 12 months it’s $ 468 ($ 9 per week) or if you sign up with a friend/​family you both only pay $ 364 ($ 7 a week)
They do have personal trainers, if you need that extra one on one attention.
