I am really conflicted about the score to give The Wanneroo Botanical Gardens — I think it should probably be 3.5. The gardens at Wanneroo Botanical Gardens deserve 5 stars. The layout and maintenance of the gardens is beautiful, and on a number of visits, I’ve played mini-golf with weddings and wedding photos happening in the background. The Leapfrogs Café I would score 3.5 to 4 stars. The food is nothing revolutionary, but tasty enough and generous serving sizes. A good option for a meal or cake stop. The real reason I drive to the northern end of the freeway is for the mini-golf and it is… well, average. There are two courses. The normal course isn’t in the best state of repair, with gouges in the carpet adding to the degree of difficulty. There are some fun ideas for holes, including a basketball net, but all of the holes end in a round end with the hole in the middle. Add to this a metal pipe boundary, and the ricochet ability of the course loses major points. It’s still fun enough to play — I’m just very picky when it comes to Mini-Golf. The second course is Billiard golf, and this course is much more enjoyable to me. The idea is to bounce the golf ball off a side before it can go into the hole, and has added benefits of multiple holes providing different scoring opportunities. It’s a little different and makes for a very enjoyable course. The carpet here could also do with a refresher, but overall it’s one of my favourite courses to play in Perth. It costs $ 18 an adult to play both.

The Wanneroo Botanical Gardens consists of the gardens, a café and also mini golf. I haven’t tried my hand at the mini golf or sampled anything from the café, but I attended a wedding here once, and it has really pretty grounds for a wedding. Much like the Sunken Gardens at UWA. Perfect if you’re looking for a garden outdoor wedding ceremony.

This is mini golf not golf !!! Don’t come here with your full set of clubs !! Surroundings are beautiful and lots of shade during the summer months. Kids love it and the café leapfrogs is great.
