RANTWARING! OKAY… I am writing this review after calming down and finding a happy place at CHI across the road… This restaurant is the first place I have been to that overwhelmingly upset me that I walked out of… !!! Here is my scenario… I booked a meal at Makan 2 a few nights ago. We were met by two friends who had been waiting for ten minutes to be told which table was ours… In the empty restaurant. on our arrival we sat down as a group. After 15 minutes we tried to get one of three staff to serve us… we were blatantly ignored! at the 20 minute mark I said to our group that we are in cosmopolitan vic park… we don’t have to support sub standard service!!! Look.. I am no foodie, no snob or some arrogant egotistical 30 something with a little too much self importance and expect silver service where ever I go… my expectations, however, of service are simple… acknowledgment of customers and attentive service throughout our time together. … I know this restaurant us cheap… but service is part of the industry…

Delicious authentic meal! Malaysian/indonesian. I ordered the biryani with 2 meats, beef rendang and chicken sambal with a potato curry paratha bread and curry dip both were amazing! Delicious flavour and textures not too spicy for those that dont like that. I also enjoyed the traditional iced tea, very refreshing. Quite a large venue with outdoor seating as well. A buffet lunch is available for under $ 15 as well and all our meals were under $ 10, great value and delicious!

So cheap. Sooooo cheap. It’s a quiet-ish malaysian restaurant that offers budget food and decent servings. Most items are under $ 14 and I haven’t had a single bad meal so far. I wouldn’t take a date here because the price of food is reflected on the décor, but id definitely go for lunch on the cheap. Their Nasi goreng was delicious as well as another rwally spicy rice chi ken dish that I had. A good visit if youre hungry, but not too picky about what you want in your stomach.

This is a rather relaxed café that offers decent Malaysian food at very cheap prices, popular amongst university and college students. I’ve seen lots of actual Malaysians here, too, and you know when a restaurant or café is frequented by the people whose culture its cuisine derives from, it’s gotta be pretty good. Trusty dishes include the always reliable Nasi Goreng and the Chicken Curry or for something sweet the Kuih Dadar, a rolled crêpe flavoured with pandan(a sweet palm) juice and filled with grated coconut. For a broader taste of Malay fare, you can take advantage of a full buffet lunch. I wouldn’t say this establishment is up there in the décor stakes and the staff are a little too nonchalant, as they’re waiting for they’re own lunchbreak, but so far as hawker-style food goes, it’s got the rustic look and vibe.
