While waiting for my friends at Garden City, I got hungry. I only realised this place was called Addiction after I finished… but I had the yum cha there. You can order straight off the menu and they cook it fresh for you, so you don’t have to worry about if the food on the cart coming around is cold or not like normal yum cha places. I noticed that they had western looking furniture but it was actually an asian fusion place, with cheap deals on Wednesdays which is always good when you see a movie or go shopping. Me likey the food much. So I had the siu mai’s, the calamari, the beef balls, the taro puffs, my favourites and they were all quite delicious if I must say so myself… because I was eating by myself. I would definetely go back to try the other stuff as well, but the yum cha food wasn’t too bad at all. Prices were $ 2-$ 3 higher than the usual plate, but big deal, rent is more here too. A little bit trendy it is.

My friends and I are divided on this place; some of them hate it while others love it. I personally love it, having always had good experiences here. I usually go for the ‘noodle bar’, which allows you to choose which type of noodles you want, which topping(chicken, vegetables, beef, etc) and which sauce. I have also been there in a family situation where we choose several main dishes to share and it has always been very tasty. The last time I went there, we were pleased to discover that they have half-price main meals on Wednesdays, which it happened to be. This included the noodle bar so it ended up costing us only $ 18 for both of our meals. It was absolutely delicious as well. I will return to this place again and again.
