While the coffee is really really good, it feels really impersonal and unfriendly at times. There’s a bit of a we’re better than you vibe that really irks me. There are other cafes in the neighbourhood where the coffee is just as good, but they serve it with a smile. 80 Bay, Mecca(a bit of a walk on Harris Street) and the Black Groodle all serve as good alternatives depending on where you find yourself in Ultimo.

Messed up an order for 2x bacon and egg rolls, long wait time, and terrible service. Wish I could rank this place lower. Coffee is OK at best.

Slow and unfriendly, but Brazilian Breakfast was ok — maybe just had a bad day …

Qube is an old favourite of mine from back when I worked in the area for over a year. Jay and the gang are as friendly as it gets, and you’re always made to feel like a special guest. The coffee is outstanding. Jay sources the latest best beans, and if it doen’t pass the Jay test, it doesn’t get served. Qube’s not just all about the coffee, though. The food selection is incredible, and changes with the weather(quite literally; if it’s raining or colder — the homemade soup flows). Check out the daily special muffins too, for a real breakfast treat. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Jay and his team at Qube on Bay(still don’t know why it’s called that…) have made this a stalwart Ultimo coffee house and lunch pit stop. The coffee’s great, thanks to a new machine and a great barista(s), plus there are guest beans to try. The food’s always great and Jay does lunch deals to keep you going back. Love$ it.

Amazing place. They serve up awesome and different boutique coffee blends — in my time there i have tried Salvador coffee from Darlinghurst, Mecca from Sydney, Campos, Seven Seeds, Melbourne, st Ali, Melbourne, axil coffee Melbourne, little marionette, Melbourne etc… keep up the good work lads. Just amazing to be be able to try so many good coffee blends and roasts in one place. Haven’t found another coffee hang in Sydney that mixes their offering up so well. can’t wait for the new renovations too. good job.
