Mexican hot chocolate should not taste like watery cayenne pepper.

Hot chocolate. Wide selection of dessert. Close to two major unis(UTS&USYD). Broadway adjacent. Seats aplenty. Outdoor seating available. Parking can be a pain(hey, it’s Sydney) but public transport aplenty. Handy and inoffensive meeting spot for folks who don’t venture there often.

Max Brenner enforce a $ 10 minimum on EFTPOS to raise their average order total. Other Café’s do not have a $ 10 minimum and allow you to buy a take-away cappuccino, without being pressured into to buy a cookie or muffin.

Stopped in at Max Brenner’s after 9pm with some friends. Service was efficient and friendly. Large cappuccino and dessert was yummy. Set up was clean and tidy and comfortable. Was easy to sit and talk with each other.

I entered the store, was 3rd in line, and still waited 15 minutes to be served. Staff were way too slow. This is not the first time Max Brenner has disappointed for service. Just got a Hot Choc, and while it was good, it was pricey and not worth the wait…

When relatives come visit from overseas there is one man I need to introduce him to — Max. Waffles is a must. Glad to see a new waffle flavour. Toffee choc-nut waffles for two($ 16.50). Warm Belgian waffle drizzled with toffee, served with ice-cream, caramelised pecans & pure melted chocolate. DROOL!!! The caramelised pecans were AMAZING!!! Banana praline crepes($ 15.50) were equally amazing. You cannot go wrong with hazelnut praline. I don’t know how but it’s like nutella, but better(if that is even possible). Between you and me I think I just use the relatives as an excuse to visit Max myself. It never seems that they like him quite as much as I do.
