Pretty much what you’d expect from your local Asian food store. Has a reasonably large selection of Japanese snacks. Did you know Pocky Midi was a thing? I didn’t, and it’s awesome. Think the cigarette from Undercover Brother except chocolate on a stick. Also sells cheap 600ml coke products(only place cheaper is to buy two from Woolworths). Staff are friendly and they take eftpos + visa + mastercard.

The charm of this place is buying stuff that you would never normally get. Or playing Asian snack roulette and getting something that has no English translation on the packaging. Orange Supermarket certainly has a wide array of the weird and wonderful, with my recent purchase of dried anchovies raising curious eyebrows in the office(N.B. they were crispy, sweet and a little sickly after too many!). And if you’re after ingredients for an Asian dinner, the aisles are stockpiled with everything you’ll need. They also have a great variety of Asian drinks, my favourite being the lychee juice with little bits of jelly in it. And a can of Coke(in its various forms) for $ 1, where can you get that in Sydney nowadays?! So if you’re wandering down Harris St, and you’re in need a of a quick refreshment, don’t be drawn in by the overpriced convenience store on the opposite corner of the road, drop into Orange Supermarket instead!

I cannot tell you enough how much I love this Asian supermaket on Harris Street in Ultimo. It’s a fabulous shopping experience and I highly recommend it. Walking into the store is like walking into shop in Tokyo. The aisles are packed with only Asian goods from Korea, China, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. The colours and flavours are so original, it’s hard to decide which unique delicacy you’re going to try. The other amazing element about this Super Market is the price. It’s super cheap. I find it to be cheaper than most stores. A box of Fortune Cookies in the Orange Super Market is at least a $ 1 cheaper than Woolworths and Coles. The tellers are always friendly and I find shopping at Orange Super Maket both fun and fabulous. You should definitely stop by and may I suggest buying something you would not normally purchase, it’s a fun way to discover food and culture.
