Thebarton Senior College

Basically a TAFE college that covers a few trades, computer studies and business studies. Many international students attend this college, why do I know? I went there myself and got my Business Administration Certificate Three at TSC. I was a member of the school council and help set up the free breakfast for students on a Wednesday morning for those who did not have time to get a decent breakfast into them. One of the main problems with the school is some of the staff should not be teaching or working in a modern senior college. The problems I encountered were with old staff who seemed to think they were little Hitlers and could do and say anything they liked to students. Problem is if a student has top pay quite a lot of money, as they do these days since TAFE has forced business style expectations on the service, then students become customers — and you wouldn’t be rude or offensive towards your customers would you?
I took complaints about teachers to the school council, and of course most staff blindly defend each other and simply turn a blind eye to rules or protocol being broken. When a small group of Anglo Saxon students complained about two middle east/​african students from fighting in the canteen and were told it never happened more or less I decided I would not continue at the school if things got worse than this. Well of course things got worse. I was enrolled in an accounting course to learn a particular type of software — MYOB «Mind Your Own Business» and after a whole semester of the same excuse class after class, that the «technical department had not installed the software yet,» I left in disgust vowing never to return. I am now happily ensconced in a TAFE that provides students with the essential elements required to gain the certification they have paid for.
