Bistro Thierry is like an old friend. I always look forward to dining here. It is always busy so always make a reservation. The four of us had a wonderful dinner here several nights ago. We started with three entrees which we shared, the calamari, the scallops and the figs with blue cheese. All were wonderful, the calamari was very tender, the scallops were perfect and the figs with blue cheese may not appeal to some but I found it a delightful combination. Attentive service with the drinks ensured we had full glasses of water and wine all the time. Wine menu is very extensive. I have not had red meat for about a year, seriously, I even feel grossed out walking passed meat in the supermarket now. Not sure what possessed me but I had the Bavette Grillee, two pieces of minute fillet steak which was so tender and may have reignited my desire for meat, I repeat, maybe! It is accompanied with fries and a salad which is always crisp, delicious and an empty bowl always left. A choice of sauces are available for the steak. A Crème Brûlée, two Chocolate Soufflé’s and a Tarte Tartin were the dessert choices. All were excellent, the Chocolate Soufflé as usual never disappoints. It is not cheap but not the most expensive restaurant in town, the ambience and quality are worth it. A buzzing French bistro close to home. We love you BT.

This place is always buzzing and unfailingly delivers a great experience. It’s not cheap but I think is good value. I recently had the boeuf borgonion and found it amazing, melt in your mouth rich and tender. I can’t wait to have it again. I used to be a softy for the steak frites but now have a tough decision. My wife loves the salade nicoise and recently fell for the scallops. We love this place and can’t wait to return.

What a lovely place to visit for a delicious meal and the atmosphere. Bistro Thierry was very full so I am glad we booked ahead of time. The setting and environment gave me a upper middle class feeling as everyone was dressed quite nicely which seemed normal for the suburb we were in. If there isn’t parking on the main street, there is a safeway carpark close by but beware this can be packed too so remember to book the restaurant and get parking early. There are lunch set menus for $ 40.00 which included an entrée and main with a glass of wine or coffee OR you could order Al la carte. Most of our table went for the set menu and were so full by the end. Our favourites from the set menu: Entrée: pan fried lamb brain wrapped in ham with mushroom sauté(I know I know, I tried a tiny bite and it was more like a cigar with mince inside) and french onion soup. Main: Beef bourguigon(braised beef in red wine) seemed to be the hit at our table. Other dishes that I did not try that others ordered: fish of the day, steak hache and the slow roasted duck breast. I am coming back here for a nice lunch or dinner soon!

Three dined. Two ate well, one did not. Barramundi and Calamari were delicious. Lamb shank was undercooked, unable to be cut off the bone — sent back to the kitchen. A replacement dish was provided, boned veal shank. Nice flavour but still not«bien cuit». Notwithstanding, the service was good: in line with expectations from previous visits.
