Pink Frosting Cakes

Bless, this place is quite ‘cute’ and yes, cupcakes are all very exciting but I was quite ‘meh’ with the cupcakes we got for my sister’s 21^st (there is a pic).
I have to say however — they did do gluten free cupcakes and they were done on short notice. The fact that this place is next to a brilliant chocolatier probably doesn’t help.
She had a Where’s Wally themed party and the result was a white fondant with red fondant stripes which weren’t uniform in size and didn’t quite fit the cupcake tops. At $ 2.50 a cupcake, she really couldn’t afford much and it was a little disappointing. I went home and made some of my own gluten free cupcakes and decorated them with piped colour and little Wally glasses. It didn’t take much more imagination!
I have had others say that they’ve found the cupcakes here dry and I found the same thing. I’ve always experienced Gluten free cupcakes to have a bit more moisture if anything.
Cupcakes and cake decorating is a great little creative business, but I feel that there are better places about and it is a disappointing follow up to what was a classic cupcake business from the 70’s.

It must be tough be stationed right next to one of the most popular chocolate houses in the state, but Pink Frosting must be doing something right, as their business seems to be unfaltering.
This cute little cupcake shop is a cake specialist, and their hard work and expertise is evident in the extensive repertoire of cakes made available in the shop. Each cake is impeccably designed and is almost a shame to take a bite into — but the visual experience is matched by the sensational, sugary experience for the tastebuds. Don’t be fooled by Pink Frosting’s modest pricing, as the cakes see no evidence of compromise.
I’ll be keeping my future children away from here and Bracegirdle’s — it’s a very dangerous little strip of shops, and has diabetes written all over it!

With Pink Frosting being located right next to Bracegirdle’s House of Fine Chocolates, it’s difficult to choose where to get your treats from. I’ve walked past their window a hundred times before actually walking in. I’m not sure why, maybe because I was always so amazed by their cupcakes that it looked to good to be true.
They are made with so much love and each one of them is beautifully designed. Some come with icing sugar and wings on top, other with roses or bows. They exist in pretty much every colour and taste. Prices are moderate, ranging from $ 1.50 for small ones to $ 4 for big ones.
A cupcake heaven, this place. :)

Pink Frosting is absolutely the best at wedding cakes, birthday cakes, brownies, and of course, cupcakes.
Located just opposite Burnside Village on Greenhill Rd, this place is a tiny shop with a pink stand just outside, in the same row as Eastern Garden and Bracegirdles.
Surprisingly, this place is quite affordable, given that they are a specialty store and have a fairly standard of work.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, sharing advice and tips on baking and what cake would go best with what occasion, etc. They were great.
Inside this tiny store you will find on display various desserts, decorated cupcakes, and 3-​tiered cakes all intricately made.
A friend hired them to cater at a work function, and they even drew on the company logo with icing. Their cakes are just fantastic, detailed, pretty, and affordable.
I highly recommend them! Just writing about it has made me crave cupcakes…

Yummm cupcakes.
This little place in the Eastern suburbs does cupcakes and some other desserts for events, parties and for general sale to the public.
They are in the same block as Bracegirdle’s which is huge competition, so they try to focus more on the cupcake catering.
I ordered 100 mini ones for my 21^st and they were amazing. They aren’t very expensive and look so professional. I got 3 different flavours with colored icing and decorations like flowers and butterflys on top.
They come well boxed so they don’t move around and get squished and I hired a tiered stand for them to sit on.
The cupcakes were so cute and pretty and everyone at my party loved them. They were soft, fluffy and flavoursome.
And the lady was very nice and helpful, organizing exactly what I wanted and suiting me for when to pick them up etc.
