Crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is something that 100s of thousands of people do each day, and yet for most is it the pure utilitarian means of getting from A to B. These people are missing out. What is worse, every one of these people is paying for the opportunity that they are missing.
But there is another way, and it is free. The Cahill Walk offers you an opportunity to take your time, and check out one of the best views of the city. Especially if it is one of Sydney’s blue sky days, it is something that you should experience at least once.
If you really feel the need to spend a small amount of money to improve the experience then check out the Pylon Lookout (review
). This is likely to be the best use of your tourist dollar in Sydney. Sure you could spend $ 200+ on the Sydney Bridge Climb (
) and go on top of the bridge, but I would keep that money in your pocket, cross the bridge for free and maybe have a lunch and a beer at the Australian Heritage Hotel (review
).
Either way, get out and enjoy Sydney.
