It is terrible… there was a bug inside the soup but they say its not their problem even no apologize.

Stopped in here for some lunch to go only and it was long after lunch hour and before dinner so the place was empty. The woman there was super helpful helping us pick out some noodle bowls with the ingredients and level of spice and sour we wanted. Also got an order of cold sliced pig ears which were chewy but tasty.

Invited by a friend & gave it a try. You can order any type of the noodle listed on the menu & then choose how spicy & sour u would like ur noodle to be cooked. Advice for first time visitor, do not overestimate ur ability, go for the basic level. I chose medium spicy & medium sour & I just couldn’t finish it…

I absolutely love this place, the whole concept, and the amount and variety of meat/vegetables served up in the bowl of noodles is amazing. I’d say it’s the best kind of chinese noodle soup you can get in town, most other places do it a bit bland and noone raves over them like they do over phở or ramen. But this place, I could rank it similar to my desires for good phở and good ramen and gets a big bonus in my books because i’m a huge fan of chilli. There is a huge selection of meats you can pick to accompany your noodle soup, chicken wings, sliced pork, pig blood etc. and they usually all come with chives, bean sprouts, tofu and pork mince. The chicken stock tastes very clean and flavourful, noodles are always very smooth and not heavy at all to finish. The drinks are phenomenal too. Best comfort food. This place needs to open up in more locations! edit– I guess I almost forgot to mention the spicyness because I can tolerate it well. there is always the option of non-spicy. I’m almost ready to go for extremely hot which is their highest chilli level, but if you cannot handle it stick to small chilli or no chilli! It is still delicious :)

Oh chilli, oh my God. The pain is unending. My spirit fled my twitching, foetal positioned body and now dwells on a plane of pure torment. Agony is my existence now. So, ummm, yeah — choose the ‘small chilli” option. They lay the spice on pretty thick. Service is fast though.

This place is where you go to get your serious Chilli on ! I pride myself with being able to eat quite a high level of spiciness but this place would easily defeat me. I never venture past Medium heat level and that’s enough to have sweat beads dripping down my face as I slowly slurp my soup. As well as choosing your spice level, you also choose your sour level — the combination becomes a hot and sour soup which is strangely addictive. Some of the meats that come with the noodle soup are a little bit dubious and reminds me of Hong Kong — such as luncheon meat and processed sausages. I go for the fish fillet soup as I have an aversion to ‘spam’ in soup ! This is certainly winter warmer cuisine and I would not dare eat this during the hot summer months.

Waiters are very rude, he doesn’t allow me to get in with my baby, even there’s no one inside the restaurant.

I ordered the Yunnan noodle w/pork, soy sauce egg, beef, chicken wing, sausage, mushroom, bean sprouts, chives, tofu which was good however I wished it had more noodles as I was still hungry after the meal. The sausage tasted slightly off, couldn’t really put my finger on why it tasted strange. I did like that there was a chilli/sour customization option available. Solid, but there are better options.

Be prepared to sweat, because these noodles are pretty spicy. It’s not a burning of the tongue kind of spicy, but a literally heat that just builds up. Twisted Noodle Bar is located right on Dixon and is a completely different noodle experience. You can get the noodles prepared in several different spice and sour levels. I opted to go for the medium. Keep in mind I enjoy spice… a lot of it. After a few bites you start the sweat wipe that doesn’t end till after you’ve eaten. Your mouth tingles from the heat, but goes away rather quickly. The sweating gets a bit much and eating becomes a task. They provide 1 napkin at a time… and then when you ask for more they only provide what you can grab from the tissue box. The milk tea is crucial though… so make sure you order it iced! I’ll be checking out the many different options they have, but this time with a sweatband on my head and wrists.

Bring a towel. No seriously, bring a towel or have a pack of tissues handy cause you will SWEAT here. The spiciness here is a whole different level of the spiciness you might expect from other cuisines… it’s only spicy while you eat. There’s no lingering feeling of spiciness if your mouth when you stop eating, and it doesn’t burn… but for whatever reason it’s spicy while you eat, and it will cause you to sweat BUCKETS. Service is fast(except they don’t give you nearly enough napkins) and there are several ways to order your noodles… by spiciness and sourness. I chose medium spicy(holy cow I don’t even want to know what extreme is like, and I like spicy food) and medium sourness. The noodles and broth are OK, not amazing but they pack a punch. The side dishes are all pretty good on their own, and you get some with a few of the noodle options. Protip: Order a cold drink(something with milk for the base to offset the acid)

I like it HOT! Noodles that is :) This is my alternative to Menya noodle bar down the road if I feel like something spicy rather than meaty. The place is a typical Chinatown eating joint filled with young asian overseas students and very casual. The service is nothing to write home about but its prompt and the coloured plastic menu with pictures is a big help. You can control the chilli and sour level based on your taste, but warning, it can get pretty hot. I usually get the medium hot and medium sour and this is enough for me. Its simple but like Menya I get cravings for it often as its comforting and just plain yummy. Try it, I dare you ;)
