Located on between the Indonesian outlet and the Korean outlet of the top floor of Sussex Street Centre, there a reason for the name of this restaurant. It really is the top choice for sizzling dishes and hot pot dishes in Sydney. Every dish at this restaurant, even the typical Westernised dishes of sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper squid and cashew nut chicken taste as authentic as they would be served in a Cantonese ghetto in Hong Kong. There are two types of dishes at this restaurant, sizzling dishes and hot pots. Sizzling dishes are presented on a hot plate in the shape of a cow. Hot pots are usually the saucier dishes, presented in clay pot. Beware, both dishes are extremely hot and you could burn yourself. The food is everything a food lover on a budget could want super tasty, extremely fast, big servings and affordable. Recommended dishes are the seafood tofu hot pot, salt and pepper squid, steamed chinese broccoli, peppercorn beef, etc. I havent tried everything yet but I’m sure there is plenty more to try. The service is always friendly, none of that«hello honey chicken» when you walk by like Ma’s stir fry on the other side of the food court is notorious for. The man who serves at the front desk is polite, speaks excellent English and make sure to watch him when he writes down your order on the notepad. He writes tiny chinese characters for each order and manages to use every bit of space on the notepad. Additionally, regardless of how busy the place is, you never have to wait long to be served your meal. Prices are also very cheap, went here the other night with two friends. We ordered the peppercorn beef, cashew nut chicken and seafood, vegetable stir fry and steamed chinese broccoli. Within five minutes we were served our meal which came complete with the complimentary, tasty, msg free soup and all for a tiny price of $ 34. Cannot get beaten on value for a meal in the city! It really is magic served here. A must go for all!
