Meh. I’ve experienced better.
If I worked in the Gateway building, I could see myself coming down to Bean & Barrel once in awhile during a rushed lunch break to grab a quick take away sandwich. Being only a few buildings away, however, I can’t see myself heading back.
They use Toby’s Estate beans. I’ve had coffee there twice and it’s been fine. Not bad, but nothing outstanding for me to need to go back for.
The sandwiches filling the display case aren’t labelled so I had to wait for a staff member to answer my questions (which were along the basic line of «what’s in that one?»). I settled on the chicken & avo, which they toasted and bagged for me to take away.
Mayo quantity preferences are about as individual and particular as Vegemite preferences, but this sandwich had way too much mayo for me, and just fell flat overall. It needed seasoning and I was without my salt & pepper grinders.
I was also without a napkin as Bean & Barrel hadn’t put one in the bag.
