Finally, a nice French bistro in Sydney! I came here about a month ago, ordered a few simple things on the menu, and was really pleased with the quality of food. Came back here a few nights ago and found myself re-ordering my favourite :) I would definitely start off with an order of the prawns from the seafood bar. They are fresh, sweet, meaty, and served with an awesome remoulade-type sauce. So fresh and relatively healthy(minus the sauce). We also added some Coffin Bay oysters this time around and I was really happy with those too. Served with a nice little shallot vinaigrette — they were delicious! We also had their Soup du Jour, which was a ham and split pea soup(great winter warmer!) and a side pumpkin and goats cheese salad. The salad was so good! Who knew quinoa, roasted kale, pumpkin and goat cheese went so well together? Overall I highly recommend this place!

This is up there with the best French Bistro’s on Sydney. This restaurant is comparable to any good Bisro in Paris. With its stylish décor, the quality food on offer and the drinks list. I have eaten here a few times and it is cosistenly good. They have a small army of staff busily working the kitchen and the floor. The service was very professional, as to be expected in this type of establishment. We stopped in for the prix fix menu on this occasion, which is such good value dining. We ordered the gruyère soufflé, this entrée was light and fluffy with great texture and flavour. We ordered the confit lamb shoulder with red wine jus caramelised onion and paris mash. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender, the caramelised onion sweet and combined well with the jus. The mash was devine, the best I have had in Australia. Smooth and rich, Very decadent. No doubt a decent amount of butter and cream used. One of our dining companions ordered the wood grilled Salmon and raved how nice and delicate it was. We shared a couple of the desserts. The Valrhona chocolate tart with coffee mousse, hazelnuts and a cocoa nib tuile. A rich chocolate tart combined with a deicious quinelle of coffee mousse. We also shared the profiteroles with salted caramel, vanilla ice cream and the theatrics of the hot chocolate sauce being poured at the table. This too was delicous, with great textures and a contrast of temperatures; Cold ice cream and hot chocolate sauce. If you haven’t dined in a Paris bistro and are after a similar dining experience, this is the place to visit.

Yum yum yum! We wandered in here on a Sunday night and managed to nab a table. It is all very French down to the authentic french waitress. It has a fantastic atmosphere — but unlike the real thing the staff are friendly! I had the lamb rump which was amazing — it literally fell apart! We had two awesome sides — the pumpkin and broccolini and the roasted cauliflower — both fantastic. No room for dessert! As usual merrivale can’t get it wrong!

Great place for French food! Affiliated with Merivale, you can expect the food to be served at a high standard, extensive wine list, slightly more expensive and pleasant staff. That’s exactly what I experienced plus the Parisian style décor had me in awe.

For the price, damn good French food. Portions are small, but tastey. Had the lamb, which was served with(very) creamy mash potatoes, and grilled Vidalia onion wedges. Finished with the cheese course. Spendy and yummy

Superb food and wonderful service. The staff at Felix made a friend’s birthday dinner a delightful experience. I will definitely be back!

Love the cute upmarket Parisian vibe of Felix, from being located in a laneway, the French styled tables and chairs, the trendy modern but old styled interiors, everything is lovely about it. There is a huge glass wine cellar across most of the back wall and a circular glass station where you have the chance to see the chef shucking oysters and preparing other seafood. Food is also great — but I was paying too much attention to the décor to concentrate properly on the food itself! Service was okay, nothing special but nothing bad either.

This restaurant is Merivale related and all establishments by Merivale are the BOMB! So so good! I ordered the waguu steak with fries cooked medium rare and it was packed full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Even the hot chips were quality! My friend also ordered the whole chicken. Excellent how they packed so much flavour into it. We ordered the profiteroles with salted caramel icecream for dessert. It presented in a deconstructed form, but not so deconstructed when you taste it! We ordered another one it was that addictive. They also have a good wine and cocktail selection list! It’s a little pricey but if you want French fine dining with good service and yummy food I recommended coming here!

I had such high expectations for Felix and was so excited to dine here. I love classic French cuisine and I had a taste of their Gruyère Soufflé & Beef Bourguignon at the European Laneway event earlier in the year and both dishes BLEWMYMIND! I was like, oh wow!!! This is special. This is the real deal… Maybe this was an off night? I ordered the Gruyère Soufflé and this time it was just«meh»… I had the Wagyu steak and«frites» and my steak was just OK. I had it done medium-rare, and it was a bit dry and not amazing. Nothing approaching stellar, and at this price point, you expect STELLAR. One of my friends got another cut of steak(I forget which) and said the same. Actually she said hers was crap. She was also at the Euro Laneway and had the soufflé and beef with me so we were both like, what happened here? We had such high hopes!!! Part of me says I would give it another go maaayybe, just because the food I tried at the Euro Laneway was just so stand out, but I’m definitely not making it a priority to come back here to eat again.

Delish Steak frites, and cocktails as french as you can get. Atmosphere was spot on and was grateful for the patient staff while I contemplated the comprehensive menu. All in all a good choice.

Tucked away on a little lane in the heart of the CBD of Sydney is Felix, a little french bistro that will have you saying«oh la la» from the time you enter this little slice of France. Felix was recommended to us by a local and I always say, go where the locals go. I made a reservation on line and was assured by a follow up phone call that our table would be perfect. While I wanted to sit outside and pretend I was on the Champs-Élysées, my friend thought it was too hot so into the bar area we went. We were there early so there were plenty of workers and not many patrons so everyone was being super attentive and helpful. Our drinks were masterfully poured and I know this as my martini was perfect snd my friend’s old fashioned was proclaimed as «one of the best he has had». A big win! I asked about what a «bug» was as it was on the menu and the server went to the raw bar and actually brought one over to the table to show me…great customer service. And our server also was quick to share her recommendations and make sure we got exactly what we wanted. For our starter course, we had raw oysters and the aforementioned«bug». Interesting, this so called bug, as it tasted a bit like a cross between lobster and crayfish. They have a variety of oysters each day so we spilt rock and pacific. And for our mains, I had the chicken, which while it sounds uninspired, was delicious! It came with crispy skin and served with a side salad. My friend went with the lamb as our server recommended it and it was terrific! All in all a great experience. Dinner for two with drinks ran about $ 215. The place was packed by 8 so make a reservation. And be sure to have a drink at their vintage like bar. The bartender is absolutely terrific. Try a slice of France right in downtown Sydney!

I would like to start off that I have been to many French restaurants that were excellent. But Felix Bistro must be confused by what that means to call themselves a French restaurant because THEYAREPRETENTIOUSANDSNOBBY. We came in at 9:50 very politely asking if they still serve food just to be safe even though they close at 10:30(so we came well before closing). After a walk around the CBD we found what we thought was this cool-suave restaurant off to the side of George street. But what we actually came in on was being ignored and treated down by all the staff. They made us order immediately without letting us thoughtfully think about it and that was the last time they talked to us. We even saw them bring food to other people after we ordered, so there was no way we came too late. NOONE asked us how our meal was going. NOONE bothered to refill our water. They made us feel like we didn’t belong there even though we are paying with the same money as everyone else. NOONE even asked us if we wanted desert and they did to the other guests in the restaurant. This was a terrible dining experience and I was very disrespected by the whole staff and in an attempt to try to get some positive attention I even told the manager thank you for having us but he still was very disrespectful. The only nice person was a blonde waitress and I thank her for her kindness because everyone else was awful. I am sorry I couldn’t experience as good a dining experience as everyone else on here. Tomorrow we are going to Tetsuya’s where we will be spending the same money they could have had from us but missed out on. I am really disappointed by this experience at Felix. If they wanted to ignore us and treat us so poorly I wish they didn’t even let us come in to have such an awful experience. I would have much rather gone somewhere else and not wasted my time or money.

Love it! Love the thursday night dish! Steak is so juicy n tender! Spatchcock is amazing so delicate n juicy! Ocean trout was fine. Mussel pot is alright! Steak tartar was very nice but not the best! The area is nice, but not big fan sitting outside but inside is way to noise. Service are wonderful, servers are knowledgeable. I ordered virgin mojito but it came with alcohol, she changed it directly. I’m looking forward to go back to try suckling pig on Tuesday!

This place is just like Balthazar in New York. I couldn’t believe it when I walked in the door. It’s a great atmosphere, the waiters and staff are great, friendly, and know the menu very well. One if the touches I love at this place was the butter with rock salt. I coup test that every day if my life. The oysters were among some of the best I have ever had. You really have to have at least one. I ordered the steak frites medium rare and it was served perfectly.
