Decent place, great atmosphere, and good quality food. I have two major bones of contention with this place, though. 1) The queue situation is a disaster. There is absolutely no order to the chaos, and the servers make no attempt to determine who arrived when. The result is that in all three times I’ve come here, I’ve politely waited my turn(after all, there were people in front of me) for 5 minutes while people walk in and order in front of me, until I get aggravated and start pushing past others to order. Then I feel bad about my behaviour. Don’t put me in that situation! Create some order to this chaos! 2) Although the sandwiches are good, the pulled pork sandwich is 90%+ meat and bread, accompanied by a massive pile of chips. They really need to break it up a bit with something fresh or tangy or something. It’s great quality meat, but too much of a good thing is a bad thing, people! Whenever I finish my lunch from Fat Duck, I’m basically ready for a nap for the next two hours. It doesn’t have to be this way! Balance this dish out, a bit! If they were to fix these two things, this place would really shine, especially given the lack of culinary inspiration that is Darling Harbour. But as it is now, this is solidly a 3-star experience.

This was my regular coffee spot when I was based around the corner. The coffee(Tobys) was consistently good although I’m not sure just how much of it was down to the gun barista vs the bean. Latte art was always a nice touch

This is a refreshing change for Darling Harbour, and one of the better places to eat in the area! Great food for lunch or breakfast, coffee is awesome too. Really friendly staff and good service. The food is a mix of Italian and Rotissarie as well as various Salads. A bit overpriced for what you get, but so is everything in that area! They should probably consider installing a pay pass terminal instead of having a minimum $ 20 for EFTPOS!

This was the first time that I had been down to Darling Harbour since the construction and WOW… what a change! Listening in to a conversation a couple of friends of mine were having on twitter, one of them suggested that the coffee at the Fat Duck was likely to be the best in the Darling Quarter, so I had to do my due diligence and find out. The long and the short of it was that while the coffee had a bit too much milk for my liking, it was a pretty decent job. Being that I have yet to try the coffee at all of the other cafes in the new complex, I will hold off my judgement for now, but what I can say it that the balcony tables this place has are just brilliant on one of Sydney’s blue sky days. If fact the the whole place is great. So if you get stuck for coffee, all I can say is that this place can help you out. Fat Duck in Darling Quarter is a fusion of roasted poultry with a French touch. What’s good about their meats is that it is painstakingly cooked to a paragon of refinement. Juicy and appetising, it’s the perfect fit to lounge around on a lazy afternoon. Aside from their exquisite meats, you might also want to try out their breakfast and salad range which offers sweeping options you can choose from. It’s an all-in-one restaurant that caters to most customer’s varied taste. If you’re looking for a new way of spicing up your palate then this is just the place to go to.
