The most Lahori experience you will have in Sydney. Fabulous food, full of flavour and décor(or lack thereof) that makes you feel like you’re in south Asia. The only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars is the price, which isn’t quite as cheap as you’d expect. But when your food and reputation is this good you charge what you can, and $ 30 a head for an absolute mountain of food and bread is not excessive. I will be back.

You come to Faheem’s for the closest thing to authentic Indian/Pakistani food in Sydney. It’s décor is equal to a truck stop in Asia somewhere. The service is pretty awful too. But the food is really really good. We had the Lahori Fish Fry which was so good we asked for a second platter to be brought out. Chicken curry, palak paneer, dahl makhani, lamb biryani, aloo matar and countless other dishes were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was that spicy, and I would have prefered more heat, but the flavors were rich and delicious. A mountain if naan came alongside — they were really good. Décor is what it is — no real complaints there. I just wish the service was more attentive.

I walked in thinking this would be a 4-star review and boy was I disappointed. I’m glad Dr. Skorpio wasn’t with me as I would have had a lot of ’splaining to do. The main reason for the two star review is that I got charged $ 20 for butter chicken, basmati rice and one plain naan. What a rip-off! I ate in for this meal — not sure if that meant higher prices. The serve of butter chicken was not that generous and looked more than what it was due to the large amount of sauce. The dish was a little spicy and more tangy than creamy. The naan was fresh and hot out of the tandoor but I found that it dried out very quickly which made it crusty and chewy. Yes yes yes, I know some restaurants charge upwards of $ 20 for a butter chicken dish alone and some places charge $ 16 for takeaway. So I did think afterwards that maybe the cost was due to having eaten in instead of ordering take-away. But then I would expect that the serve of chicken should have been larger. And yes, perhaps ordering something else on the menu, ordering the dishes that are the house specialties would have made this a better experience, but alas, I didn’t. I had a butter chicken craving. So if you are seeking a budget friendly rendition of butter chicken with rice, or the north indian westernised creamy version of this dish, looks elsewhere. Maybe I should head over to Harris Park where I hear they have some amazing Indian restaurants.

The best Pakistani and Indian Restaurant I’ve ever had! The food is so good I don’t really care about everything else. So, what’s so good about it, I hear you ask? Every food has the right amount of spice that kicks you as you eat them but not overwhelming. Be warned, their food is spicy, some are mild and some are really kicking. Their Chicken Kharai I always come back here for is full of flavour and it’s really spicy, eat it best with Garlic Naan to mop up all those curry goodness. Try the Mango Chicken if you’re not a chilli eater, it’s mild and unlike any mango chicken I tasted, I can really taste the mango on this dish and they topped it with slivered almonds for texture. If you come here for the first time, you have to try their Tandoori Chicken, it’s tender and tasty. Then on the next visit be more adventurous and try their other dishes, like the Shish Kebab or Nahari. Then wash it all down with Mango Lassi. Yum!

This place is the real deal! It’s not much of a setting but that is the appeal. Faheems is about the food — especially the tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken is superb — it looks like it has the potential to be a bit dry but proved to be gloriously tender. The service isn’t great but I don’t think I was expecting otherwise. E.g. I was attempting to be slightly healthy and ordered a plain naan but got served a garlic cheese one anyway! This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it was delicious and not too greasy. I’ll definitely be back to try the tandoori fish and the curries!

Good food. Average service. Sitting ares bit congested. I like fried fish and brain masala. Price is just reasonable.

Authentic and reasonably priced North Indian and Pakistani food. Being an Indian myself am usually a hard critic when it comes to indian food, but Faheems delivers on taste. The Naan is soft with a dollop of butter on top and freshly baked. Their tandoori chicken and lamb lentils is pretty good. My husband is a fan of the brain curry but I steer clear of all things offal, he orders it every time and gets one packed for later in the week as well. Their chicken biryani is tantalizingly tasty packed with spices and flavour. They don’t go easy on the spices so go there if you like spicy food and you will love it. The ambience is basic with an old Delhi feel to it. Why three stars well the ambience and service can do with a lot of overhauling but I guess that’s not their focus.

The best tandoor around! Misleading name though, as Faheem and the gang generally just operate at regular restaurant pace. Meanwhile, why the hell doesn’t this place deliver?!

I thought extremely tasty Indian food at reasonable prices was hard to find in Sydney until I walked into Faheems. To be honest I would have opted for another restaurant by the looks of this place, but decided to give a try based on reviews. And let me tell you, I’m sure glad I did. The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. For an average of $ 10 you get a big bowl of curry with lots of meat. The naan bread for a couple of bucks is scrumptious. The lighting in this place is as bright as bright can be, and you’ll feel like you’re eating in a dodgy cafeteria, but don’t let that take away from a wonderfully prepared meal. In saying that, you may be dissapointed in the ambience but you won’t be disappointed in the food!

I have eaten at Faheem maybe thirty times. I think they are one of the better Indian restaurants in Sydney and a great choice for the price. I highly recommend the Haleem«King of Currys». It was featured on Food Safari and is extraordinary. Why only three stars John? Well, the problem is lately the food has been inconsistent. The last two times the chicken tikka was undercooked and the next day both my wife and I had severe indigestion. Very frustrating.

Went here based on others reviews & wow it was worth it. The food is some of the most authentic indian I have had outside of india. Yes the place doesnt look flash(infact i had walked past a couple of times & thought no way. but I was wrong) A great array of dishes including some great vego and lamb. the naan is fresh & hot and boy is the service fast. we ordered 3 dishes, a rice & naan and we couldnt eat it all between 2 people a must if you like authentic indian flavours not just coloured slop in a bucket like so many other places.

There’s a reason Faheem’s is generally pretty packed full. It’s the tasty, authentic food served in record time. Everything’s cooked fresh(the naan straight from the tandoor is fantastic), and the menu includes quite a few traditional bits and pieces which you won’t find in the bain-marie’s of the other Indian takeaways around. Having said that, I’d describe the décor as «hoseable» which while practical, lacks a bit of ambience. Head in for a no-nonsense, speedy Indian or Pakistani feed when you’re not in the mood for candlelight or loitering.

Faheem’s is what you need when tasty, quick, no fuss Indian and Pakistani food is what you’re after. Apart from the naan maker next to the window, there’s really not much for attempted atmosphere in this simple curry house. But that is exactly what makes the atmosphere of Faheem’s … Everyone is there for one reason: the food. It’s relatively cheap and delicious, and while I would say that for the price the portions could be a bit larger, it’s definitely not a bad option if you’re craving tandoori on the way home one night. My partner had the tandoori chicken($ 10 for two pieces), and we split palak dal and palak paneer(both around $ 11). Both boasted both lovely flavors, but neither were mind boggling. The garlic naan($ 2.50) was delicious and huge and if I would return for anything, it would definitely be that! It’s open until midnight which makes Faheem’s a great option if you haven’t had anything for dinner and have nothing in the fridge. I can’t say I’d recommend you seek it out, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend against passing it by.
