We ended up here on a work night out on the reccomendation of one of the guys. I am never listening to him food wise again. This is the sort of RSL club chinese food that I thought went extinct 20 years ago. Its about as authenitically Chinese as I am. You know the sort — all sweet sauces. Given that Chinatown is just around the corner I know we could have done much better.

Surprise surprise! Tucked away at the back of the club at 99 York is a damn fine Chinese restaurant. We came with a group of 10 and had the $ 44 per head banquet and we only just managed to get through it. Peking duck was lovely, duck sang choi bao outstanding, fried salt and pepper prawns crisp, fried rice was awesome with a slight smoky taste, scallops and vege stir fry and beef with onions and garlic, plus more I can’t remember. Service was pretty good and the whole place was really authentic. Seriously, I was stunned. Well worth a try!
