Cafe Zoe

An old favourite, I just adore their haloumi, eggplant and mint baguette. The bread is so good and the flavour combination is spot on. Service can be random but it is worth the angst.

Not off to a good start. Ordered «HOT» coffee, and got the usual lukewarm drink.
Baked eggs with marinated lamb mince, shallots (spring onions), zucchini and chorizo.
Very small meal.
Tasteless, and quite unappetising.
At least the toast was nice.

Quality food and coffee without the pretentious hipsters hanging around the front door. Steak sambo is worth ordering, the smoothies and juices are also a winner

The food here was very good. I had the haloumi and eggplant salad which was done nicely. My friends said the salmon w/​salad special and the lentil soup were both delicious.
My coffee was fine — nothing spectacular but drinkable.
The service was great — really lovely people who were really accommodating with the prams/​kids etc.
A lovely spot.

On the redfern side of bourke street there are a couple of restaurants that stand out, Zoe’s is one of them. Love the outside seating, especially on the weekend you can take one of the newspappers and spent the whole day reading, eating and drinking.
My favorite are the sandwiches but you can’t really go wrong. The French toast is delicious too. My favorite sandwich is the chorizo one which comes with delicious mayonnaise. The suckling pig is also not that bad, maybe a bit blend but not bad.
The smoothies are good too, you get a massive glass which is always a plus. Zoe’s is a lovely local place.

I am a fan of Zoe’s. I have been for years, almost since the beginning. It was the quaint-​corner-​café-​on-​a-​leafy-​street look that first caught my eye, and the steak sandwich that sealed my fate as a regular Zoe’s customer.
I know the ownership of Zoe’s has changed a couple of times, but through all of this I find the taste of the food consistently good. The biggest benefit is that it’s not a 1 hour wait for breakfast on a weekend like a lot of cafes in the area. The max time I’ve ever had to wait is 5 mins whilst they clear the table.
I’ve had a lot of things on the menu and, being a fan of a great breakfast, I have to say the scrambled eggs are delish. My all time fave though — the steak sandwich. Try it and appreciate the great work of the Zoe’s team!

Great spot close to Surry Hill and Waterloo. Really nice relaxed vibe with good quality food served generously.
I recommend this place to get away from the hustle and bustle of some of the other ultra famous places in Surry Hills.

Café Zoe was one of the first cafes in sydney to earn worship status from me when I moved here. Luckily it was nearby my old house and it was a regular haunt that I introduced people to, who would then happily meet me there.
It does get busy on weekends, but the tables turn over quickly. My favourite time is on a week day for breakfast, its nice and relaxed, sun beams through the big glass windows and you enjoy what they have to offer.
And they make a great offer:
— tasty tasty eggs, poached or scrambled, you can tell these are good quality organic eggs
— Interesting omelettes
— DE-​LISH haloumi

Café Zoe, on the quieter end of Bourke St (Redfern side of Cleveland St) serves good food at good prices in a good spot. Good.
They serve delicious omlettes, cheap and tasty ricotta pancakes, fresh juices and a list of egg muffins that make bacon-​haters delight– instead of just your stock standard bacon and egg muffin, these guys offer egg and spinach and egg and salmon as well. The muffins aren’t huge but they hit the breakfast spot and they’re aptly priced ($ 6).
Coffee is hit and miss (beans by Single Origin), but when it’s a hit it can be truly fantastic. Café Zoe is in a beautiful spot to breakfast as well. Situated on a green leafy street, you get the perks of Surry Hills dining here without the prices, the noise pollution and the traffic.
Any place where I can order breakfast and a freshly squeezed juice and still escape for under $ 10 gets my tick. And if the food and coffee are both amazing, then it gets my return business too. And you’d appreciate how much this means if you sat in Cleveland St traffic for half an hour to get here in mid 30’s temperatures. Without aircon. That’s what I’d do for you Café Zoe.

The interiors of Café Zoe boast high ceilings and modern timber furniture in contrast with the typically cosy little joints that pepper the surrounding Cleveland Street area.
Frequented by creative types breaking for lunch and yummy mummies with tots in tow, the café is usually pretty busy. Luckily, there is plenty of breakfast bar and table seating indoors, as well as surrounding the windows on the pavement.
While the scent of wafting garlic from a nearby diner tempts a second lunch session, this afternoon tea time calls for one of their Single Origin coffees and an impressively large carrot muffin (which is really just a tiny cake, all cream cheese frosting and toasted walnut topping). The variety of waiters serving our table makes for some confusion — it seems one young Frenchie is still learning the ropes — but no matter, as staff are friendly and service quick.
