Bean temple

Carmello is the best barista in Sydney. I’ve been coming to Bean Temple for about 3 years now, best coffee in Sydney.

Excellent coffee. Ok service. Ok food.
Had:
soy lattes — delicious.
Paleo breakfast — fine, but not remarkable.
Bacon and egg wrap — oily (as in dripping with oil) and bland unless you added the sweet chilli and pesto supplied. Not a bad feed, but if it’s the ‘best in Sydney’ as claimed, there aren’t many good wraps out there!
Go here for coffee.

Okay, let’s be straight. The sign outside says best egg and bacon wrap … They’re right. It’s an amazing breakfast wrap that everybody should try. And the coffee is great too. Super pleasant staff.

This is a small café in front of the Police station. Now this rating might change depending on what you are coming here for. If you are coming for food and the variety that this place might have, I am sorry but you are going to be disappointed. The food here is like anywhere else. In other words it is not special.
However, if you are coming here for the coffee — well that is am completely different story. The coffee here is good and consistent. Sadly, the workers here have no idea about coffee — when I asked what type of bean they use, the answer was ‘coffee beans?’ However, each cup that have received has been extremely good. It is strong and bitter — if you like your weak coffees, probably best to avoid this place. But if you like a good strong cup, this come with your jazz hands — I promise you wont’ be disappointed.
Also, they is a little park outside the place. So it was quite nice grabbing a sandwiche and coffee, and having a sit outside.

Funky, rough, with a bit of a southeast Asian feel. Long tables, friendly service, really good coffee.
Not the nicest location, as it’s a long, dark, concrete room/​balcony overlooking busy Goulburn Street. But it’s gotta be one of the most secure places to have a cup, since it’s right across the street from the Surry Hills police station.
I hear good things about their bacon and egg roll.

this must be also Sydney’s safest café as they are close to a large police station. I think this is one of surry hills hidden treasurers.

I like Bean Temple. The staff are super chirpy in the morning, and they make a decent coffee. The stand out menu item for me is the bacon and egg wrap for breakfast. Awesome stuff.

I get breakfast here almost every other day. Mel makes an awesome coffee and Moo makes the absolute best bacon and egg wrap. Highly recommended and I’ve found it to be the best coffee in the area.
