Watts Cooking is a pretty safe bet if you’re looking for brunch in Surrey Hills.
They’ve got a good breakfast and lunch selection. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable and the staff are really nice.
It’s pretty family friendly here but also suits those without kids too. There’s a nice area out the back which has a roof cover allowing for airflow and is ok to sit in if the weather turns.
There’s not too much on offer in Surrey Hills for the brunch crowd, but Watts Cooking caters well. The coffee and food are good. Definitely one of the shining lights in the area.

Having recently moved closer to proper ‘burbs territory, I was nervous about leaving behind fabulous places to eat.
I shouldn’t have been.
I’ve been to Watts Cooking a couple of times now and i can’t fault them where it matters. Servings are so generous I am yet to finish a dish and prices are rather reasonable.
Staff are friendly on the whole although I have noticed it can take a little longer to get your coffee than expected. It’s a pretty decent coffee when it does turn up.
There’s a nice area out the back to sit although it gets hot on a sunny day thanks to no breeze hitting the deck area — grab one of the far back tables on the astro turf where there is a bit more air flow (unless I’m trying to sit there — in that case, BACK OFF!).
Looking forward to my next trip — and seeing if their competitors are up to scratch!

4 of us had lunch here, great coffee and really tasty food. I had the Baked Eggs which was very tasty and little spicy (nice) due to the chorizo. Good sized servings.
Sat out the back, protected from the wind but good natural light.
Good friendly service. Will definitely be heading back here again!

Delicious breakfast. Mushy Brekky was so different and well balanced. Service was spot on (always seemed to be there exactly when you need them). Great coffee.
Interesting and diverse menu, covering most tastes and requirements.
