Huge fan! Love the cute little fromagerie it is a given I walk out with some creamy slab of deliciousness! I too like other reviewers wish I was a multi millionaire when I walk in here I could walk away with everything I wanted, which let me tell you that list is not small by any means. Have bought my son a lunch box here, bought gourmet jars of jams, they have beautiful wooden shelving and décor, sell great gifts especially around xmas when they do hampers and all sorts of boxed gifts and Simon Johnston sets. They also offer you a coffee as you walk I made from the espresso machine for you to drink whilst browsing around. Great sales pitch. They sell imported goods which all look soooo good including chocolate, Dried pasta and so many tins of Italian goodness in all forms. Staff are soo friendly and I Highly recommend simon johnsons products, the shop and of course the chocolate and cheese.

I am a little or maybe a lot in love with this shop, and the only reason I discovered it was because of my obsession with chocolate(thank you obsession). Cleverly they had a little black board outside the door stating that they have an amazing selection of chocolate inside for Easter — that won me over straight away. Walking into this haven of beautiful, gourmet and fantastic quality foods with wooden shelves lined with the best imported and locally made products ranging from unrefined can sugar from France(well their other territories), organic South African Rooibos Tea — which reminds me of home, pasta from Italy, organic ginger and lemon biscuits, mounds of delectable chocolate from Italy and France and best for last an in house fromagerie. Honestly this store is beyond amazing and I shall definitely come back to treat my self and my loved ones even if it’s only for a small packet of biscuits, as the prices reflect the distance and the quality achieved to make these fine products. Heavenly is all I have left to say.

The best part of this whole store for me is the cheese room. Whether your weakness is chedder cheese, blue cheese, or some kind of off the wall speciality cheese, Simon Johnson will likely have it. This grocery store is over the top indulgent. When you’re shopping here, you really feel like you’re getting premium quality, the best of the best. Ask the staff for samples before committing to your selections for the day, they are happy to oblige. Of course, the selections are expensive, but you really get what you pay for. The Kervella Goat Cheese is my absolute favorite. Creamy and delicious, I use it in so many meals. Of course, in addition to cheese they have loads of other products. If you’re feeling fancy, invest in one of their flavored olive oils or imported chocolates. This kind of food will make you savor your meal slowly, to really appreciate the taste and also to make sure you get as much enjoyment for your money as possible.

I like artisan foods as much as the next gourmand and can spend hours comparing coffees and cheeses till I find what I really want but I do think Simon Johnson take liberties in its exhorbitant prices. Everything instore is beautiful laid out, though, which makes grocery shopping here an aesthetic pleasure and when I am looking for some really-hard-to-find-ingredient for an exotic dinner I’m preparing like Moroccan or regional Italian, I can usually count on it being sold here. But with many more commercial produce providers evolving into ‘providore’ status, the competition is on, and Simon Johnson might have to reconsider its price point… That’s all.

Visiting this place makes me sad I am not a multi-millionaire with a disposable income to spend on high quality foods and drinks. They stock the best cheeses, pastas, sauces, jams and conserves, a variety of oils and vinegars, and all those other artisan foods Nigella Lawson would revel in. I do like to spend my hard earned cash on a special Buffalo yogurt they supply, one that is rarer to find in Perth than pure gold. It does cost $ 13 per 500 grams, but it’s a well deserved treat. The staff are mostly friendly, although they do stick their noses up sometimes when I walk in. I guess my youth and obvious lack of cash money makes them see me as a definite«browser» and not«cash cow» but that’s ok. Sometimes, I stare at the cheeses they house in the glassed room like people stare at maternity wards full of newborns. A must for foodies.

Do not enter Simon and Johnson on an empty stomach. The place will seem like a heavenly buffet compared to your humble kitchen and you will spend all your money on jars of fruit conserves, confectionery and exotic oils. I made this mistake and then severely regretted my recent grocery shop at IGA. What was I thinking when I bought Home Brand peas? As one of Australia’s most reputable gourmet food suppliers, they’re the place to go should you so require Porcini mushrooms slow cooked in white truffle oil, with a side of Green Picholene Olives and some pumpkin risotto all washed down with a huge glass of red peach nectar. This place is even better than Sydney’s Thomas Dux — and that’s really saying something. It’s the Ritz of grocery shopping and truly for those with a taste for decadent and gourmet food. This place turns grocery shopping into an adventure — see how many foods you can find that you didn’t know existed! What on earth is a milk salted caramel bar? Or French salt? I have no idea, but I’m sure it’s probably blessed by a deity of some sort for the prices they charge. Enjoy yourself in Simon and Johnson if you’ve got a bit of cash to splash or after a present for a friend with expensive taste, but if not, maybe stick to Woolies for basic kitchen stapes.
