OK… I know that when writing a review it is customary to rate the food and the service and the venue… I am only able to achieve one of those here. I vaguely remember walking though the entrance and being pleased with the ambiance, but its a vague memory. I vaguely remember the mains and desert and smiling, but its a vague memory. I vaguely remember the staff and service and saying to my wife that I was happy, but its a vague memory. I do, however, remember the Tzatziki. Oh My Lord its MEMORABLE! Its creamy and garlicy and full of flavor. Its the best Tzatziki I have ever eaten… and I’ve been to Greece! I will have to return again and post another review that is a tad more informative, but at this stage I cant. I am still mesmerized by this delish dip. AAA+++ WILLDINEAGAIN, FORSURE! UPDATE: Came here for dinner again with the wife. This time I paid particular attention to the other aspects of this Grecian Gem. I had the chilli muscles in a creamy garlic sauce, sheer heaven. My Croatian Goddess sampled the baked Halloumi and eggplant with a Napoletana sauce… Simply stunning! We moved on to the braised goat and moussaka. Both were rich with flavour and hard to choose which was the best. I ate all of mine and half of hers!(Don’t judge me, I have a well documented food addiction!) All this washed down with a Greek beer, Mythos. We then decided to brave the deserts. Almond cake and ice-cream sundae with brandied fruits. What an adventure. Have to say that this place continues to impress. Best Greek restaurant in Perth by far! AAAA++++ WILLDINEAGAINFORSURE

Service is some of the best I’ve experienced in Perth. Great humor, great attention, attentive and not pushy or rushed. The girls reflected that they didn’t remember their glasses being refilled from the wine bottles. They were flexible as well when we wanted to mix up the seafood platter with some vegatables(we offered to pay the higher price). I really enjoyed the taste of all the food. It was well cooked and well presented. Octopus and chili mussels stands out in my mind. We spent 420 dollars between three couples with three bottles of wine, eating heaps of entrees and sampler platters. Wine was very nicely priced in the 40’s for a bottle and the waiters were able to make recommendations. I couldn’t pass up a GSM described as having smokey bacon flavors. It’s a very nice ambience inside and out. We were dining on the patio with the live musicians playing 3 meters to our side.

15 years later and this is still my favourite Greek restaurant. Great value, terrific service and a menu that is full of flavour and depth. Not to mention they are the number 1 live bouzouki venue in Perth. I love the complimentaries they provide, the way they never push mineral water onto you. Asking for extra bread or sauce, they NEVER charge a cent extra. I once asked them for a ½ glass of wine, the owner just gave it to me. So different to most Perth restaurants that are purely after the profits. George’s Meze must struggle to make ends meet given how cheap everything is,…hang in there guys I will do my best to support you !! This place has gone to extraordinary lenghts to cater for my Wife’s various food allergies. The chef is brilliant. The owners are always present, working harder than their staff. They truly care about every meal and every patron. I can’t begin to thank you guys enough for always being there for us. A Perth institution that everyone can be proud of.

I went to Georges Meze for dinner on a Saturday night with guests from out of town. Sitting on the outdoor terrace was great, it was a summery night, with an relaxed ambience with lots flowers and plants. Best of all were the Greek folk musicians, 2 older gentleman who provided back ground music who really got into it! We ordered lots to share, a vegetarian platter of lots of different things to taste, fried calamari, lamb cutlets, creamy seafood claypot and all of it was good. My personal favourite was the claypot with creamy garlic sauce. My guests were from China and were new to Greek cuisine but loved everything! Desserts were delicious and we were told they were handmade by George himself. I loved the honey cookie and the vanilla slice. Service was lovely and attentive on a busy night. Price is standard for Perth, what you’d pay at a pub but with a better quality of food! I would definitely return.

I’ve been to this place on more than one occasion. After reading most of the previous reviews i feel the need to talk this place up a bit more than whats been done! The service here is always pleasant. On the ball with drinks service and always coming over to check on the table and make sure everything is going well! As for the meal prices. There is nothing unusual here when it comes to the price of mains or entrees. We are in perth and i feel compared to the rest of the city it averages out to the same cost you’d find anywhere else. To me the meals feel warm and hearty. I wouldnt go here if you were in the mood for fine dining. This is traditional greek comfort food The restaurants décor is lovely and warm. On the weekends they will have live music playing in the background. But nothing too loud or over the top. Just adds to the warm friendly relaxed environment. All in all I always leave here feeling like I’ve got my moneys worth. Signing off… One satisfied customer.

We had a really nice dinner at this place. The waiters are very polite and always trying to help. The food was really good we loved the lamb they have. The plates are a bit french so it’s not a generous amount of food but a reasonable one. The price is ok, I would but it a but on the high side but Ok for Perth I guess.

A fair meal with the potential to be great. This restaurant is set out and feels like a typical Greek restaurant from its motherland. I have dined here twice in the last 2 years and on both occasions the food was of good quality but lacked that so certain something that leaves you wanting more. Portions were generally on the small side, not typical of a genuine motherland Greek restaurant. I suppose the pricing was fair enough given the quality of food but a little more on your plate would fully justify the price tag. I also found some of the staff a little cold and pretentious. Not the feel you want when dining in the hospitality industry. All in all a fair meal but could improve although it’s worth trying for your self.

Were here on a friday night, booked half an hour before dinnertime. At 7 pm the restaurant was 25% full and filled up later. We ordered the vegetarian platter(60 $ for 2 persons). We were disappointed when it was presented as it looked like very small portions of several, nicely arranged pieces of food, a real mix of everything. As the hour after that ticked along, and we ate our way through the vegetarian platter, we felt however nonetheless very satisfied as the quality of the food was very high and above all, for vegetarians very divers. The staff were attentive and flexible. We ordered as side dish only Tzatziki as we both love this. With the platter was a small bowl of tzatziki the size of a dipbowl with a diameter of about 3 cm, just one for the both of us. We then thought that this was part of the platter but felt felt seriously ripped off at the cashier when we were charged 8 $ for this homeopathic bit of 4 teaspoons of tzatziki. All in all a good evening with a bitter aftertaste when George’s Meze ripped us off for 4 teaspoons of tzatziki.

I had lunch here on Friday afternoon, walked into the restaurant at a little after 1pm and the place was fairly busy. Drinks were reasonably quick to arrive. I think I placed my order at around 1:15 and got my order at around 2pm — personally that’s simply unacceptable. Friday afternoon lunch in Subiaco is a workplace habit for many, but taking almost an hour from order to being on the table is poor. The food was ok, but I’ve had better, the side salad was the best part of the moussaka I ordered. The layers of the moussaka were not defined and the flavour was a bit bland. The service was polite, friendly and warm, unfortunately by the time the food arrived my beer was warm as well. My co-worker had the rack of lamb, he was happy with it — though for the price he felt it was a little thin. This is the only Greek place I’ve been in Australia, hopefully there are better offerings!

I spent some time on the Greek Islands enjoying the sunshine and the yummy Greek food. I was eager to experience some of that authentic Greek food. The garden outdoors area is relaxing, but unfortunately it is a little close to the road during the day, which tends to be busy. The menu is extensive and covers all the main greek favourites including souvalaki, keftedes and tzatziki. The service was fast and friendly. The food was a little hit and miss. The servings were on the small side. The lamb was cooked perfect Greek style and melted in your mouth. The skordalia dip was barely passable. We ordered a range of deserts and they were delicious. Authentic baklava and halva was a great way to finish the meal.
