Loved the new fresh brighter layout and was really looking forward to trying the new menu(especially after being to the old café urbano only once after discovering the longest blonde hair I have ever seen in the battered fish) and testing out the coffee. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who was bright and cheerful we were quickly seated given our menu’s and ordered coffee and water. Both myself and my guest ordered the fish with scallops avocado and prosciutto mine minus onion as I’m allergic. Coffee arrived and I was delighted to taste it neither burnt nor bitter. Water was lovely and cold. Unfortunately from there it went a little pear shaped. My 1st attempt to eat my lunch found onion even though I made it very clear that I am allergic so it went back to the kitchen. 2nd attempt the chef removed the onion but also for what ever reason removed the scallops too so back to the kitchen it went. 3rd attempt nice to see the scallops back but this time the avocado was missing. All the while my lunch companion has a dinner going cold. The waitress was clearly embarrassed by the errors and tried to make light of the situation and was apologizing profusely and while outwardly I was smiling… inwardly I wasn’t overly impressed but at least it was eventually a nice experience. The fish was light delicate and literally melted in my mouth and was worth the wait and to the cafés credit they deducted 10% from our bill without us having to say anything. The only few suggestions I have are more attention needs to be paid in the kitchen and when staff eat behind the register the last thing I want too see is them licking their fingers before making my coffee without washing their hands — hygiene is imperative

Really great ambience the owners have created. The prices are great for the area and the food selection is good. I love he coffee too. About service or attention to detail I personally would feel if all the staff would be one heart one soul with the vision of the owners the place will thrive even more. The place is very new when we dropped in and I know it does take time for staff to settle on. But small things can improve the bottom line without much effort. What I mean is going the extra distance. An example is when my wife asked for a slice of toast it was declined simply because the chef said it was not on the menu. Other small things that can improve and bring in more money is smiling faces. I feel café has potential and will be very successful as we want them to do well here. Look forward to seeing them grow and grow. Overall very happy. I am very happy to suggest this place to all my friends. You will have a great time too. Let’s make 69 Wilgarning a big success!
