Expensive eco
Yes «being green» is cool and what most of us aspire to achieve most of the time however this is not the store to encourage mainstream eco/​organic use. Having been a big fan of Waste Not Want Not on Goodwood Rd, Goodwood for many years I was disappointed to hear that high rents in Unley had forced their re-​location recently to Old Reynella.
Looking around for a local alternative I ventured to Magill. Ecolateral has a good variety and I agree the owner/​manager is nice however the prices are generally prohibitive and I decided that a trip down south would still be cheaper despite the fuel cost.
If you are desperate you can probably find what you are looking for if you are prepared to search a bit. You will find eco lines in most health food stores and at the Adelaide Central Market. Better still make a short detour on your next trip to the south coast and visit Waste Not Want Not!

Ecolateral is my go-​to when I need some some ecologically friendly products. From paint to baby bottles to underwear, this store has it. My only critique is that there are some products sold at Ecolateral that I can find cheaper elsewhere. They’re a small business, though, and I whole-​heartedly support them and their cause.

Eco-​lateral is great. It is in the middle of an emerging green/​organic/​eco/​sustainable hub that is on Magill rd. The lady that works there is super nice and she seems to know her stuff. I have a few great conversations with her about issues. I wish I had more money to buy all the things that I want there. Eco-​lateral is a little bit pricey. That might be because of the neighbourhood, but also because eco-​stuff is fashionable like that now and only affordable to those who do it as a fashion statement. Regardless, they certainly have good deals on a couple of items that I’ll be coming back for. Great store — Highly recommend.

It has everything environmentally friendly you could imagine, and many things you might not.
PRODUCTS
I’ve bought a few cleaning and laundry products from the vast range in this store, such as Eco Store dishwashing liquid.
GARDENING
I’ve also used a bottle of Charlie Carp certified organic fertiliser on my plants that I bought from Ecolateral, and they seem to be in good health.
BABY CARE
There is a large range of products that will be gentle on babies and the environment.
BOOKS
This place is about educating people about the environment too, so there are quite a few books on this subject for sale too.
ART AND GIFT WARE
There is an interesting array of reclaimed and recycled materials on sale as gift ware designed by South Australian and interstate artists. These include toys, jewellery, bags and sculptures, to name but a few, and the shop also sells an array of stationary.
