Keep in mind it’s a food court so don’t expect 5 star setting but the food and service did not disappoint. We had Tokyo portion which for 35 per person was great. Kids had a ball and lots of theatre in service — if you are not after fine dining but want fun night is recommended and BYO too!

I just wish Unilocal would allow you to give a minus star rating. I would give this restaurant –5. Let me first start with the sashimi at the place. There was no doubt it was frozen. Do you know how I know it was frozen? Because they dint thaw it properly and when I took my first bite into it, i could actually feel the ice crystals on the freezing cold sashimi. When I tried to send it back, the server says that’s the only thing they have in an irritable tone. Now the time comes when they start up with the teppanyaki… the same chef was actually tending to 2 teppanyaki booths at the same time. The chef just seemed pissed off at everyone for god knows what reason. There was none of the usual fun teppanyaki tricks or anything at all. The only trick done was he gave us a bowl and just tossed an egg into it… seemed like the trick of the century sitting at that table. Other than that all what was done is a guy cooking in front of you and just putting it in your plate. Now reviewing the food. The food was appaling it tasted horrible beyond measure. To the extent that vegetables used in the fried rice were also frozen. I had a terrible experience with much more terrible tasting blant food. I just hope I don’t land up getting violent diarrhea cause of this food. Honestly saying places like these are an abomination and deserve to be shut down. I wouldn’t pay even $ 2 for this food…

Not amazing. But pretty good. The teppan chefs are good fun and there is a fun atmosphere when the restaurant is busy. Great for families as the kids seem to love it.

Teppanyaki is a little bit of a treacherous proposition: you never seem to get your fill but you do get some delicious cuisine. You don’t get to wear white clothing but you do get to practice your rice catching and flying food gulping skills. You don’t really get a cheap meal, but you do get an extraordinary level of showmanship. Courting disaster by the white collar location, Osaka is a cheerful teppanyaki restaurant hidden away on Albany Street. Despite looking small from the outside, the restaurant space spreads out across a wide area and each dining bench can seat roughly 13 office workers of varying body density and height. I know because we tried it. This restaurant bucks the trend by being affordable and diners select their meat of choice prior to the performance. As we all know, a show ensues and your peers will be able to ridicule you or praise you depending on how you fare. At Osaka, we were mercifully not required to catch a bowl’s portion of flying rice as some restaurants like to make you do, and I thank them for that. Disaster would have definitely ensued. If you work at a company with a real emphasis on team building, this is an out-of-the-box choice which will have your cohort bonded over the shared terror of food projectiles.
