had a pumpkin soup and a meat lovers pizza. the soup was so salty it could have dried up the Nile, the pizza on the other hand was equivalent to that across the road at dominoes. was greeted with a shot of port after my meal, I guess they figured I wasn’t overly impressed. unimpressed not worth another visit. staff were melancholy and morbid. everything was OK or pretty bad, wouldn’t recommend. sad

If you are looking for good pasta at a decent price then this is the right place. It is a straightforward Italian restaurant with ample seating and friendly service. I had my regards up until I was eating the herb cheese bread and fettuccine castellana. Colorful vegetable noodles with scallops, bacon and mushrooms. Delicious!

There was not many places open for breakfast on Sunday morning in St Kilda. They had special big brekky for $ 11 so my boyfriend was drawn to it. Had couple coffees and they were fine. I asked if I can get something else instead off bacon from the big breakfast menu and was told than they cant make change in the system so no I cannot change item on the menu. — Really? Tell the chef not you till machine. I was surprised so I picked something else on the menu instead. My bf ordered the big brekky and halloumi on side — that was the most salty and overcooked halloumi we ever had. The staff was kind of asleep and slow. Maybe the dinner service and the dinner menu is better as the place was huge inside but I wont be coming back…

Very friendly and a homely service. Pasta was very traditional with great wine to complement the dishes.

Yummy food, quick service, friendly and attentive staff. They asked us a few times how our dining experience was going and were happy to help with any requests. I was impressed with the Italian waitress who had a joke and knew her Italian cuisine.

We had Mother’s Day lunch at Leo’s with a group of 15, including one(sometimes misbehaving) baby. It is a nice restaurant not trying to be too fancy and(thankfully) not too noisy either. Staff were attentive and quick to take our orders when we were ready. The prices were very reasonable and the servings quite large. I had spaghetti bolognaise with meatballs(had to go spaghetti!) and others had various pasta dishes or pizza. Everyone was very satisfied with the meals. If you are looking for a casual meal with a group this is a great place to go(for kids as well). The only thing that was dissapointing was no BYO.

Was ok but nothing special. It tastes like what it looks like from the outside. Pizza could have doubled as pizza hut.

10 points to the genius who can figure out what they serve here… But seriously, they do serve more than just pasta here. Of course, the menu is predominantly Italian, with a decent seafood selection too — a signature of most St Kilda restaurants. Speaking of St Kilda restaurants, I find it kind of endearing that in the midst of all the trendy, hipster venues in the area is restaurant just called Leo’s Spaghetti Bar– very unpretentious. It gets fairly busy here, but outside of weekend peak times there is generally little to no wait for a table. Outdoor seating is available, and the décor here is simple and comfortable. My two favourite dishes would have to be the Fettucini Matriciana, and the Fried Calamari Salad. The salad is drizzled in a lemon and olive oil dressing which is perfect with the perfectly cooked calamari. Throw in some feta. cucumber, tomamto and red onion, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a salad — something I rarely say. I dont generally waste the pleasure of dining out on a salad, but this one is worth it! Add a decent wine list and Leo’s definitely holds it own amongst the restaurants of the area.

I always find it quite difficult to distinguish between Leo’s and nearby Topolinos, so original are the two venues. but seriously, these two places really are rather similar. Sarcasm aside, Leo’s isn’t half bad. This is just your classic Italian joint, it isn’t going to blow your mind by any means but it sure will do the job. All your favourite classics are here from garlic bread to pasta and pizza. While there are no bargains to be had, the prices are reasonable and the serving sizes generous. So if you’re in the market for a standard Italian meal then give Leo’s a go. Although, in a city like Melbourne you could do better…

Quality Italian food without the hype. This statement sums up Leo’s Spaghetti bar completely, located in St Kilda amoungst some of the higher end restaurants this little Italian experience is simple, affordable and generous. With mainly traditional Italian dishes on the menu they also have a variety of fish and seafood dishes to choose from as well. I’m a fan of the Leo’s Special a tasty pizza topped with salami, onion, shrimps, olives, ham and mushrooms. Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli is also quite good for lunch especially with a side of garlic bread. Leo’s is also open for breakfast serving up some pretty hearty meals sure to get you off to a good start to the day, that being said If you are after a caffeine hit with your breaky better off pushing on to a café, I have never found the coffee at Leo’s to be good or really even average, burnt milk and bitter coffee, not the best accompaniment to your eggs and toast
