Been here 5 or 6 times, always for brunch. It’s a pretty great choice for this area. I would advise that you select a menu item, rather than craft your own breakfast. Most of the menu items are nicely balanced, however I often find that as a pescatarian, there is hardly anything I can eat. EVERYTHING has bacon. Sad face. They have a huge and usually well received menu of sweet breakfast items(pancakes, French toast with gingerbread etc) but sweet stuff is not really my cup of tea. Coffee is good. Scrambled eggs are dry and of a poor standard. It’s a good option if you have more than 2 people, lots of space and the décor is lovely.

One of my favourite cafes in Melbourne! Their mushrooms on toast dish is to DIE for !!!

Hannah is one of those special places with great food, specialty coffee, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere. Upon first walking in, you are always greeted with a smile and have to smile yourself for finding such a gem. The menu is simple, with all items available all day(no breakfast/lunch change), build-your-own eggs and toast options, and well-balanced options of unique breakfast and lunch specialties that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s also overwhelming — with so many tantalising options that you cannot possibly only come here once without needing to come back for more! My favourite all-time dish is the mushrooms and poached eggs with truffle oil. Try this sometime and you will see how it is almost impossible to not instantly become addicted. And as a vego, this mushroom specialty fares above and beyond all others I have tried in Melbourne(and the world.) The weekday and weekend specials always have something tempting and interesting. The weekends get really busy here, so expect a wait where you can sometimes grab a seat at the bar, or outside with coffees on a sunny day. Hannah is truly a gem not only in St Kilda, but also in all of Melbourne. I’m so happy to have found this place and met all of the wonderful and friendly people who work there.

I have a massive soft spot for this place. The staff are always happy to have a chat, but will equally leave you alone if that’s what you want. Proud Mary /La Marzocco coffee south of the river. The food is original and bang on. Its an awesome addition to the Balaclava hood.

I had heard wonderful things about this café but I thought the atmosphere was awkward, the food OK and the service less than friendly.
