When Café Asmara first opened, I thought a shisha place in Springvale? You probably through the same and, indeed, feel skeptical — like, really? I’m going to smoke some shisha in Springvale? That’s how I felt, but I’m not even going to lie — I love this place. Not only because it’s close to home, but, hey! There’s no actual hang out spots in Springvale. Despite the people who goes to Café Asmara — young little kids, the place is pretty legit and I really don’t mind hang out and smoking with my friends. QUICKBITS: (1) Opens everyday Monday through Sunday. (2) Opens during the afternoons, noon, and closes until late, such as 2am to 3am. Perfect for a late hang out smoke. (3) Serves Coffee. (4) Shisha variety is limited, there’s no exotic flavors, such as sex-on-the-beach. Very basic fruit flavors like: apple, orange, strawberry, mint, etc… One of my favorite is mixing apple-and-mint together and you’ll get this refreshing flavor that sucks through your lungs. A suggest to the owners/managers are have some«cool mixes» and that will attract a lot of people, especially the younger professional crowds who are down to just hang out and don’t want to drive all the way to Glen Walverley. (5) SERVICE: when I first entered the place, I honestly didn’t know where to go. Am I going to be seated by someone or am I going to go up first. So, I found out that you’ll have to go up and order to get service. Go up there order and pay then you’ll get your shisha, and don’t forget to get water or a drink. (6) AREA: Has a TV in which you could watch music videos — very cool. It plays some new hits and in fact some new hits. The station is very American — reminds me of my time in the US. Stylish Couches, although some are ripped open and fluffy stuffings are coming out. Chairs and tables are unorganized, so you can move them if you have a huger crowd. There’s tables where you can sit outside and the enjoy the beautiful view of Springvale Road as cars passes by — I’m only kidding about that. **OVERALL: Although it’s kind of odd to be smoking in Springvale, but I have say — a very good experience and a very interesting one. Check it out yourself and don’t be afraid stars.
