This modest shop boasts handmade dumplings cooked to order. They have a large selection of them and while I waited for my take away order, I saw lots of happy smiles around. I tried the shaomai dumplings and was quite impressed. Large dumplings filled with sausage and rice had a nice flavour and consistency. They did not need any sauce unless you wanted to add spice. Then I dove into the big bowl of braised beef noodle soup. Heaps of noodles and tender beef, along with crunchy Chinese broccoli and green onions. The broth was flavourful and filling. This is a great casual place best for a low key night or hangover meal. It’s affordable and satisfying, and a quick walk from South Yarra train station. I’ll be back to sample more of the doughy little beauties.

Great takeout or dine in at a very reasonable price on Toorak Road. I grabbed take away here on a Saturday night and my total bill came to $ 18.80 for Singapore Noodles with chicken and 12 beef dumplings. This was more then enough for two people with left overs. Huge menu and lots to chose from. The dine in option is simple table settings and they have BYO as well. It was busy on a Saturday night even late.

Great food delivered fast, prices are reasonable and they’re open late what more can I say. There’s over 113 items on the menu so lots to keep you coming back :)

If like myself you love Indonesian food and are looking for authentic taste, a great ambience and prices that won’t shock you, you have to try Rice Table! On weekdays, they have set menus which allow you to order their signature dishes as sets. These are not just scumptious but the portions are great so you feel satisfied without feeling the pinch. Try the Nasi goreng set(fried rice with satay and freid egg) nasi coconut set(satay, potato patties on coconut rice), nasi campur(pronounced chum-pour) which gives you a bit of everything or for those that fancy something spicy: order the fish or prawn belado. The flavours from each and every dish will blow you away so if you’re on a diet, I suggest not going there because once you’re had a taste, it’ll be hard to stop. Popular dishes to share include chargrilled satay(meat skewers) — my favourite is the lamb and Tahu telor(an egg and tofu dish with a delightful peanut and sweet sauce) — great for vegetarians! The service is always great and soothing traditional Balinese background music will complete your experience. On a hot, summer night: finish your meal with either Es Campur(jackfruit, palm seed, and palm sugar on shaved ice or Es Cendol(pronounced ch-en-dole) a green jelly, palm sugar and coconut iced drink. Can you say delish!
