I would give this place four or five stars if it wasn’t for the terrible service. To be fair, the owner seems super friendly and nice and everyone else seems super friendly and nice, with the exception of the one waitress who I always seem to end up with and who is most definitely NOT super friendly and nice.
I kept trying to go here because the coffee and breakfasts are actually quite good and I like the coziness of it. But after several unfortunate run-​ins with what appears to be Melbourne’s crankiest server, I finally gave up.
So to all of you who wish this place was a little less packed when you try to get in for weekend breakfast, allow me to grant your wish. Because I won’t be back.

The best coffee this end of Chapel Street, this café is set off the main Chapel Street drag but don’t think that it’s quiet — this is a hotsort of good food, good coffee and friendly efficient service. Try the berry bomba for a breakfast treat!
